What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Daily Enzyme Support against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Daily Enzyme Support by Altrum
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Daily Enzyme Support contains six active ingredients: three digestive enzymes (Amylase, Protease, and Lipase) that help break down carbohydrates, proteins, and fats in your food, plus Cellulase (another enzyme we couldn't fully check), and two probiotics—Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium—which are live beneficial bacteria meant to support gut health. The capsule itself is made from vegetable cellulose and gelatin.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for these ingredients is mixed and often limited. Lactobacillus acidophilus has possibly effective data for irritable bowel syndrome, H. pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
Lipase and Protease don't have enough reliable evidence in our data to rate them for digestive or inflammatory conditions. The effectiveness of Amylase, Cellulase, and Bifidobacterium isn't established in the data we hold.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Protease and Lipase are generally well tolerated in most adults but may cause digestive upset or allergic reactions in some people. Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children, though it can occasionally cause mild gas, bloating, or abdominal discomfort.
Rare but serious infections linked to L. acidophilus have been reported in vulnerable patients. Since we hold limited pregnancy and breastfeeding data for Protease and Lipase, and safety during pregnancy hasn't been established for Protease, talk with your doctor before using this product if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on antibiotic drugs—Lactobacillus acidophilus can reduce how well probiotics work when taken at the same time. No other medication interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Daily Enzyme Support might help if you're looking for digestive enzyme support or probiotics for gut health, particularly if you have irritable bowel syndrome or antibiotic-associated diarrhea. If you take antibiotics, timing matters—your doctor or pharmacist can help you space out the doses so they work better together.
