Orally, the fruit is unlikely to cause serious problems, but allergy and rare anaphylaxis have been reported. Topically or with sun exposure, fig leaf can cause photodermatitis (severe sunburn-like reactions from sun sensitivity); stay out of direct sunlight and UV exposure while using this product.
