Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: graviola leaf powder at 350 mg per capsule. Graviola is a tropical plant traditionally used in folk medicine for various purposes.

The capsule itself is an inactive ingredient.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

We hold no graded evidence for this product's ingredients for its stated purpose.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: promoting healthy cell function.
  • We looked for evidence on: Cell health, Cellular support, Antioxidant support.
  • Our graded evidence for these ingredients doesn't cover that particular purpose.

The evidence we hold doesn't support graviola for any of the uses it's marketed for — HPV infection, headache, or as an insect repellent. The safety data on this plant are limited, and we don't have reliable human studies showing it works for these conditions.

Talk to your pharmacist or doctor if you're looking for a proven treatment for any of these issues.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Regular use of graviola may not be safe. In a clinical study, people taking 300 mg daily reported nausea and burning stomach pain (epigastrium pain).

More worrisome, long-term use raises concerns about possible nerve damage (toxicity), and rare cases of movement disorders similar to Parkinson disease have been reported. If you have Parkinson disease or a family history of it, graviola is not recommended — even small amounts have been linked to worsening motor and thinking symptoms.

Graviola should be avoided during pregnancy and while breastfeeding because safety data are lacking.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Graviola.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • For scale: 1 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

If you take carbamazepine (Tegretol) for seizures, check with your pharmacist before adding graviola — it may lower your seizure medication's effectiveness. For other medications, no interactions are documented in our data, but that's not a guarantee none exist.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Unless you're taking carbamazepine for seizures, graviola's main documented concern is safety in regular use — stomach upset is common, and rare nerve and movement problems have been reported. It's not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding people.

If you're considering this, talk with your pharmacist first, especially if you have a seizure disorder or neurological condition.
