What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Gut Love against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Gut Love by Power Blendz
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Gut Love contains 4 active ingredients: Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium longum are live-culture probiotics (beneficial bacteria) meant to support gut health, along with Fructo-oligosaccharide, a prebiotic (a type of fiber that feeds beneficial bacteria). The product also contains a Pre-Biotic Matrix and Pro-Biotic Matrix — these are ingredient blends whose individual components are listed separately on the label.
Maltodextrin is included as an inactive ingredient.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence is mixed and often limited. Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis — but the data aren't conclusive.
For Bifidobacterium longum, we don't have enough reliable evidence to rate it for any of the conditions studied, including antibiotic-associated diarrhea, anxiety, asthma, and allergies. Fructo-oligosaccharide's effectiveness for osteoporosis, constipation, diabetes, and cholesterol also lacks sufficient evidence in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Both Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium longum are generally well tolerated in healthy people, though the data are limited — especially for those who are seriously ill or have weakened immune systems. Rare but serious infections (bacteremia, sepsis) have been reported with both, usually in very ill or hospitalized patients or premature infants.
More commonly, you might experience mild gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, or diarrhea — these are uncommon but possible. Fructo-oligosaccharide often causes gas and bloating at higher doses, though doses under 10 grams daily are generally mild.
Lactobacillus acidophilus is rated possibly safe in pregnancy; Bifidobacterium longum is possibly safe in both pregnancy and lactation. Data aren't available for Fructo-oligosaccharide's use in pregnancy or lactation — talk with your doctor or pharmacist about personalized advice.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Gut Love, double-check any antibiotic drugs you're on — the live bacteria in this product can be killed by antibiotics, making the probiotics less effective. Your doctor or pharmacist can help you space them out properly.
No interactions are documented for the other ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Gut Love may be worth considering if you have IBS or antibiotic-associated diarrhea and want to try probiotics, though the evidence is modest. If you take antibiotics, time them separately from this product and confirm the right spacing with your doctor or pharmacist.
People who are seriously ill, have compromised immune systems, or are pregnant or breastfeeding should check with their healthcare provider first. Run your medications through the checker on this page before starting.

Lactobacillus acidophilus
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Bifidobacterium longum
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium longum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. longum.
Since B. longum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. longum preparations by at least 2 hours.
