What’s inside
Partial disclosure
This product has 3 active ingredients. Nattokinase is an enzyme derived from fermented soy that works like a blood thinner in your body — it may help break down clots and thin your blood.
Phytosterols are plant compounds that may support cholesterol levels. Salicin is a compound from willow bark.
The capsules also contain inactive ingredients: rice flour, cellulose, silicon dioxide, and magnesium stearate — these are fillers and binders that hold the capsule together.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence we hold doesn't establish that nattokinase works for any of the conditions listed — angina, atherosclerosis, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and chronic fatigue syndrome all show insufficient reliable evidence. We don't have effectiveness ratings on file for phytosterols or salicin in this product either, so we can't speak to how well they may work for heart or cholesterol support.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Nattokinase is generally well tolerated short-term, but because it thins your blood, it's not suitable if you have a bleeding disorder or high bleeding risk. Rare cases of severe bleeding — including brain bleeding — have been reported, especially when combined with blood thinners.
Nattokinase can trigger allergic reactions in people sensitive to natto (fermented soy), including anaphylaxis in rare cases. Do not use this product during pregnancy — there isn't enough safety data.
Safety while breastfeeding is unknown, so avoid it to be safe. We have no pregnancy or breastfeeding data on file for phytosterols or salicin.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with us before taking this if you use blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs like warfarin, apixaban, dabigatran, rivaroxaban, clopidogrel, or aspirin — nattokinase raises bleeding risk (Moderate severity). Also double-check if you take antihypertensive drugs (blood pressure medications) — nattokinase may lower your pressure further (Moderate severity).
We hold no interaction data for phytosterols or salicin.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glancePartially disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is mainly for someone interested in natural approaches to heart and cholesterol health who doesn't take blood thinners or blood pressure medications. If you're on any prescription drugs — especially anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, or blood pressure meds — talk to your pharmacist before adding it.
Anyone with a natto allergy or bleeding disorder should skip it.

Heart Cholesterol Support by BIOVEA Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
BIOVEA's Heart Cholesterol Support contains nattokinase, which does interact with medications.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs — nattokinase has blood-thinning effects of its own, and combining it with drugs like warfarin, apixaban, or aspirin raises the risk of bleeding. There's a documented case of brain bleeding in someone who added nattokinase to low-dose aspirin.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Nattokinase may also lower blood pressure, so if you take antihypertensive drugs (blood pressure medications), there's a moderate risk it could push your pressure too low.
We couldn't check the other two active ingredients — phytosterols and salicin — because we hold no interaction data for them. Altogether, these interactions span 287 individual medications.
Before you start this product, use the search tool below to check your exact medications against nattokinase.

Nattokinase
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Nattokinase might increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
Nattokinase has thrombolytic and anticoagulant effects. There is a case report of intracranial hemorrhage in a patient who added nattokinase to aspirin therapy.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, nattokinase might increase the risk of hypotension when used with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research suggests that nattokinase may reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
