Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains 3 active ingredients: chromium, biotin, and cinnamon (cassia). Chromium is a mineral involved in blood sugar regulation and is used to support glucose metabolism.
Biotin is a B vitamin that plays a role in hair, skin, and nail health. Cinnamon (specifically cassia cinnamon) is an herbal extract often included in supplements aimed at metabolic support.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients: rice powder, gelatin capsule material, and vegetable magnesium stearate (a flow agent).
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Chromium is likely effective for treating chromium deficiency and possibly effective for diabetes support, though it's rated possibly ineffective for prediabetes, schizophrenia, and high blood pressure. Biotin is likely effective for biotin deficiency and is generally well tolerated, though evidence doesn't support it for multiple sclerosis, seborrheic dermatitis, or alopecia areata.
For cinnamon in this product, the evidence isn't established in the data we hold—we have no effectiveness ratings for its use in diabetes, dyslipidemia (high cholesterol), or other conditions listed. If blood sugar control or metabolic health is your goal, the evidence here is mixed at best.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Chromium is generally well tolerated at typical supplement doses, though gastrointestinal upset, headaches, insomnia, and mood changes are the most common side effects. Rare serious effects—kidney or liver damage, rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown), and low platelet counts—have been reported.
High or long-term doses carry greater risk, and the data advises avoiding extra chromium in pregnancy unless your doctor recommends it. Biotin is generally safe even at fairly high doses because excess is eliminated in urine; however, high-dose biotin supplements should be discussed with your doctor first.
Cinnamon at food amounts is likely safe, but supplement doses high in coumarin (a compound in cassia cinnamon) may harm your liver if taken long-term in large amounts. Avoid medicinal or high-dose cinnamon supplement amounts during pregnancy due to limited safety data.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take antidiabetes drugs (insulin or other blood sugar–lowering medications—chromium and cinnamon both lower glucose), levothyroxine or other thyroid medication (chromium may reduce absorption), medications that stress your liver (hepatotoxic drugs—cinnamon carries moderate risk at high doses), or NSAIDs and aspirin (they may increase chromium absorption).
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product may be worth considering if you're addressing chromium or biotin deficiency under medical guidance, but it's not well established for diabetes or metabolic health on the cinnamon side. If you take blood sugar–lowering medications, thyroid medication, or drugs that affect your liver, you need to check this with your own doctor or pharmacist before starting.
Discuss high-dose supplements with your healthcare provider, especially if you're pregnant or taking other medications.

High Potency Cinnamon 1,500 mg by tnvitamins Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
High Potency Cinnamon 1,500 mg by tnvitamins contains chromium and cinnamon, both of which interact with medications.
The most serious concern is chromium's moderate interaction with antidiabetes drugs (insulin and other blood sugar–lowering medications), where it may add to their blood-sugar-lowering effect and raise the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Chromium also has moderate interactions with levothyroxine (thyroid hormone), potentially reducing how much your body absorbs—research shows a 17% drop in blood levels. Additionally, both chromium and cinnamon may lower blood glucose, creating additive effects with diabetes medications.
Cinnamon also has a moderate interaction with hepatotoxic drugs (medications that can stress your liver); taking high-dose cinnamon supplement with these drugs might compound liver risk. Chromium and aspirin or NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen) carry minor interactions—these pain relievers may increase how much chromium your body absorbs.
Biotin, the third ingredient, has no interactions documented in our data. Altogether, these interactions span 524 individual medications.

For each ingredient in High Potency Cinnamon 1,500 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Cinnamon
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, cassia cinnamon may have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs.
Cassia cinnamon may lower blood glucose levels, and have additive effects in patients treated with antidiabetic agents. Dose adjustments to diabetes medications might be necessary.
Hepatotoxic Drugs
Theoretically, large doses of cassia cinnamon might cause additive effects when used with hepatotoxic drugs.
There is some concern that ingesting large amounts of cassia cinnamon for an extended duration might cause hepatotoxicity in some people. Cassia cinnamon contains coumarin, which can cause hepatotoxicity in animal models. In humans, very high doses of coumarin from 50-7000 mg/day can result in hepatotoxicity that resolves when coumarin use is discontinued. Lower amounts might also cause liver problems in sensitive people, such as those with liver disease or those taking potentially hepatotoxic agents.
Chromium
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, chromium may have additive effects with antidiabetic agents and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Some research shows that taking chromium might lower blood glucose levels, especially in patients with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes.
Insulin
Theoretically, concomitant use of chromium and insulin might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
In clinical research, chromium has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity,
Levothyroxine (Synthroid, Others)
Chromium might bind levothyroxine in the intestinal tract and decrease levothyroxine absorption.
Clinical research in healthy volunteers shows that taking chromium picolinate 1000 mcg with levothyroxine 1 mg decreases serum levels of levothyroxine by 17% when compared to taking levothyroxine alone. Advise patients to take levothyroxine at least 30 minutes before or 3-4 hours after taking chromium.
Aspirin
Theoretically, aspirin might increase chromium absorption.
Animal research suggests that aspirin may increase chromium absorption and chromium levels in the blood.
Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (Nsaids)
NSAIDs might increase chromium levels in the body.
Drugs that are prostaglandin inhibitors, such as NSAIDs, seem to increase chromium absorption and retention.
