What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: honeysuckle extract (Jin Yin Hua). The formula also includes vegetable palm glycerin and alcohol as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for honeysuckle isn't established in the data we hold. Our sources rate it as having insufficient reliable evidence for age-related cognitive decline, respiratory tract infections, eczema, diabetes, and indigestion.
That doesn't mean it doesn't work — it means the human research we have access to isn't strong enough to make a claim either way.
How safe is it?
Some data gaps
Honeysuckle is often brewed as a tea with few reported problems, but high-quality safety data in humans is limited. Topically, it's been linked to contact dermatitis in a case report.
Orally, there's one reported case of an allergic skin reaction after taking 30 grams of honeysuckle granules over 24 hours; symptoms went away once the product was stopped and the person received antihistamines and steroids. The safety data advises against use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (anticoagulants and antiplatelets) are the main concern — there's a moderate risk of increased bleeding. Check your exact medications with the tool on this page before you start.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and some safety-information gaps remain.
This product is traditionally used, but the scientific evidence for what it does isn't established. If you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs, check with us before starting.
