When taken by mouth, it can trigger allergic reactions, and topical use can cause eczematous (itchy, inflamed) allergic reactions; patch testing is recommended if you've had reactions to similar plants.
Burning, itching, redness, and scaling have been reported rarely in combination products. The safety data for oral use is limited, so it's best to avoid taking it by mouth unless your doctor approves.
