Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product has 13 active ingredients: three digestive enzymes (amylase, bromelain, protease, and lipase), plus lactase and cellulase to help break down different foods, and four types of probiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Bacillus coagulans, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and Bifidobacterium breve) along with stevia leaf extract as a sweetener. The digestive enzymes support your body's natural ability to break down carbohydrates, proteins, and fats; the probiotics are live beneficial bacteria meant to support gut health.
Inactive ingredients include mannitol, stearate, citric acid, natural cherry flavor, and silicon dioxide.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for these ingredients is mixed. Lactase is effective for lactose intolerance.
The probiotic Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis. Bacillus coagulans is possibly effective for constipation and IBS.
For the digestive enzymes — bromelain, protease, and lipase — the data we hold show insufficient reliable evidence to rate them for the conditions listed. Bifidobacterium longum and Bifidobacterium breve don't have established effectiveness ratings in our data.
The stevia extract also shows insufficient reliable evidence for diabetes or hypertension.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Bromelain is generally well tolerated short-term, though long-term safety data are limited. It can cause diarrhea, flatulence, stomach upset, and headache; rare allergic reactions (IgE-mediated) are possible, and inhalation can trigger asthma and throat symptoms in occupational settings.
Protease is generally well tolerated but may cause digestive upset or allergic reactions. Lipase has no reported adverse effects in adults, though serious effects have occurred in premature infants.
Lactase is generally well tolerated; a rare case of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis was reported in a worker exposed to powdered lactase. The probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy people but can rarely cause gastrointestinal discomfort (bloating, flatulence, abdominal pain, diarrhea).
Stevia is generally recognized as safe in typical food amounts; minor adverse effects like headache, dizziness, nausea, and muscle pain can occur but usually resolve within a week. Pregnancy and breastfeeding safety data are limited or absent for most ingredients — see the FAQs below.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your pharmacist before taking this product if you're on anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs like warfarin or aspirin (bromelain increases bleeding risk — Moderate severity). Antibiotics are a Major concern: the probiotics in this formula won't work if taken at the same time, so separate them by a few hours.
Also double-check tetracycline antibiotics, blood pressure medications, diabetes medications, and lithium, which have documented interactions with ingredients here.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This is a multi-ingredient digestive and probiotic formula best suited for people looking to support digestion and gut health. Digestive Enzymes Chewable With Prebiotics + Probiotics Cherry Flavor by DaVinci Laboratories Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
DaVinci Laboratories Digestive Enzymes Chewable With Prebiotics + Probiotics has several documented interactions with medications.
The most serious involves bromelain, one of the digestive enzymes in the product. Bromelain may have antiplatelet effects and could increase bleeding risk if you're taking anticoagulants (blood thinners) or antiplatelet drugs like aspirin — this is a Moderate severity interaction.
There's also one case report of minor bruising when bromelain was combined with naproxen.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Additionally, the three probiotic ingredients in this product — Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum, and Bacillus coagulans — all interact with antibiotics. Since these probiotics contain live organisms, antibiotics taken at the same time may kill them and reduce their effectiveness.
This is a Moderate severity interaction; you'll want to separate when you take them.
Bromelain may also theoretically increase levels of tetracycline antibiotics (a Minor interaction), though a human study showed no actual difference in tetracycline levels when the two were taken together. Stevia Leaf Extract in the product has Minor interactions with blood pressure medications and diabetes medications, and a Moderate interaction with lithium.
Altogether, these interactions span 557 individual medications. We could not check amylase, cellulase, or Lactobacillus bulgaricus — no data is on file for those ingredients.
Use the medication checker on this page to see if any of your specific drugs are affected.

For each ingredient in Digestive Enzymes Chewable With Prebiotics + Probiotics Cherry Flavor with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Stevia Leaf Extract
Lithium
Theoretically, stevia might decrease clearance and increase levels of lithium.
Animal research suggests that stevia extracts might have diuretic activity. Theoretically, increased reabsorption of lithium along with sodium might reduce excretion and increase levels of lithium.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, stevia might increase the risk for hypoglycemia when combined with antidiabetes drugs.
Preliminary clinical research in patients with type 2 diabetes suggests that taking a single dose of stevia extract 1000 mg reduces postprandial blood glucose levels when taken with a meal. However, other clinical research in patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes suggests that taking stevioside 250 mg three times daily does not significantly affect blood glucose levels or glycated hemoglobin (HbA1C) after three months of treatment.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, combining stevia or stevia constituents with antihypertensive agents might increase the risk of hypotension.
Stevia extract and stevioside might lower blood pressure in patients with hypertension. However, other clinical research suggests that stevioside does not significantly lower blood pressure in patients with hypertension.
Lactobacillus acidophilus
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Bifidobacterium longum
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium longum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. longum.
Since B. longum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. longum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Bacillus coagulans
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking antibiotics with Bacillus coagulans might decrease the effectiveness of B. coagulans.
B. coagulans preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. coagulans preparations by at least two hours.
Bifidobacterium breve
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium breve with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. breve.
Since B. breve preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. breve preparations by at least 2 hours.
Bromelain
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Bromelain may have antiplatelet effects and may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
There is one case report of a patient experiencing minor bruising while taking bromelain with naproxen. Bromelain is thought to have antiplatelet activity. Whether this interaction is of concern with topical bromelain is unclear. Interference with coagulation of burn wounds has been reported in a patient receiving bromelain-based enzymatic debridement. However, observational research has found that topical bromelain debridement is not associated with increases or decreases in laboratory markers of coagulation when compared with surgical debridement.
Tetracycline Antibiotics
Theoretically, bromelain might increase levels of tetracycline antibiotics.
Laboratory research suggests that bromelain might increase the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics. However, a study in healthy adults reported no difference in tetracycline plasma levels when a 500 mg dose was taken with or without bromelain 80 mg.
