What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: molybdenum 500 micrograms per capsule. Molybdenum is a trace mineral your body uses as part of several enzymes that help break down certain amino acids and manage uric acid.
The capsule itself is made from gelatin, cellulose, and vegetable stearate—standard inactive ingredients that hold and deliver the mineral.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Molybdenum is likely effective for preventing or treating molybdenum deficiency, which is rare in people eating a varied diet. For acne, iron deficiency anemia, asthma, osteoporosis, and esophageal cancer, the evidence is insufficient to say whether it helps—we just don't have reliable data in those areas.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
When you stay at or below the daily upper safe limit of 2 mg, molybdenum is generally well tolerated. This 500 mcg dose is well within that range.
The safety notes caution that high-dose supplements may cause problems and are rarely necessary, and that you should avoid high-dose supplementation without medical advice. One serious case report described severe toxicity (hallucinations, seizures, brain damage) from much higher daily doses (300–800 mcg daily over weeks), so exceeding recommended amounts carries real risk.
During pregnancy, molybdenum from food and prenatal vitamins is generally considered likely safe, though some data suggest possibly unsafe—talk with your doctor about whether you need a supplement. During breastfeeding, dietary amounts appear likely safe.
Meds to double-check
No known interactions
No interactions are documented in our data for the ingredient we could check. That doesn't mean none exist, so if you take any prescription medications, confirm with your own pharmacist before starting.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.
This supplement makes sense if you're concerned about molybdenum deficiency, though that's uncommon in people eating typical diets. If you're pregnant, have a history of seizures or psychiatric symptoms, or take high doses, talk with your doctor or pharmacist first.
For most people eating normally, food provides enough molybdenum.
