Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: organic arjuna, a traditional herb used in Ayurvedic medicine. The capsule itself is made from vegetable cellulose, an inactive filler that holds the herb.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not established

The graded evidence we hold for these ingredients covers different conditions than the ones this product is marketed for, so there's no established rating for its stated use — see Terminalia's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: supports cardiovascular health and immune system.
  • We looked for evidence on: Angina, Coronary heart disease (CHD), Heart failure, Hyperlipidemia, Hypertension, Atherosclerosis — and 1 related terms.
  • The closest evidence on file: Terminalia is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Angina (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Terminalia is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Coronary heart disease (CHD), Heart failure, Hyperlipidemia, Hypertension.

The evidence we hold for arjuna is insufficient to rate its effectiveness for obesity, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or angina. That doesn't mean it doesn't work—it means rigorous trials haven't yet established it clearly enough for us to make a reliable claim.

If you're considering this for one of those reasons, talk it over with your doctor about what the current research shows and whether it might fit your care plan.

How safe is it?

Some data gaps
Safety Information · database check
Some gaps

Safety data exists for these ingredients, but with some important gaps.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 0 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Arjuna is generally well tolerated in short-term studies, though long-term safety and product quality can vary from brand to brand. The safety data advises against use during pregnancy and breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know it's safe in those situations.

If you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Terminalia.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs; diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 934 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before taking this product, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel), diabetes medications, omeprazole for heartburn, chlorzoxazone for muscle relaxation, or any medication that relies on liver enzymes to break it down—including many antidepressants and blood pressure drugs.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and some safety-information gaps remain.

Organic Arjuna may interest someone exploring traditional herbal support, but its wide interactions with common medications—especially blood thinners, diabetes drugs, and heartburn or muscle relaxer medicines—make it one to clear with your doctor or pharmacist first. If you take any prescription medication, check it against this product before you start.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding are times to avoid it.

Organic Arjuna by Herbadiet: Common Questions

Does Organic Arjuna by Herbadiet interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Organic Arjuna has a known interaction with 933 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Organic Arjuna contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Is arjuna safe during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
The safety data advises against it. There isn't enough information to know whether arjuna is safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so it's best to avoid it during those times. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist if you're pregnant, planning pregnancy, or nursing.
What is arjuna used for?
Arjuna is a traditional Ayurvedic herb sometimes used to support heart health, cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and weight. However, the evidence we hold is not strong enough yet to rate how well it works for these purposes.
Are there any side effects listed for this product?
Our data doesn't include reported side effects from trials. Arjuna is generally well tolerated in short-term studies, but long-term safety can vary depending on the brand and how long you take it.
Does this product have fillers or other ingredients besides arjuna?
The capsule is made from vegetable cellulose, which is an inactive ingredient that holds the herb inside. The active ingredient is arjuna itself.
Why does this product interact with so many medications?
Arjuna affects three major enzyme systems in your liver (CYP2D6, CYP2C9, and CYP3A4) that break down hundreds of different drugs. When these enzymes are slowed down, drug levels rise, which can amplify both the effect and the side effects of those medications.
