This product contains one active ingredient: pantethine, a form of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5). Pantethine is the acetyl form of pantothenic acid and is thought to work differently in your body than plain pantothenic acid — it's used in research and clinical settings to support certain lipid and metabolic concerns.
The capsule also contains two inactive ingredients, microcrystalline cellulose and vegetable stearate, which are common binders and flow agents.

Moderate evidence
The evidence for pantethine is mixed and depends on what you're taking it for. For hyperlipoproteinemia (abnormal blood lipid levels), there is possibly effective evidence.
For athletic performance and general hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol and triglycerides), the evidence we hold is insufficient to rate it reliably. Similarly, data on pantethine for pantothenate kinase-associated neurodegeneration (PKAN) are not established in our records.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Pantethine is generally well tolerated in studies, though long-term safety data are limited. The most common side effects are mild gastrointestinal complaints — nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, epigastric discomfort (upper belly discomfort), bloating, and flatulence.
Mild itching has been reported but is uncommon. Pregnancy safety data are not on file, and there isn't enough reliable information about safety during breastfeeding — talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether to use this product if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
