Phosphatidyl Serine Plus has three active ingredients. Inositol is a carbohydrate your body makes and uses to help regulate blood sugar and support mood and hormonal balance.
Choline is a nutrient that your liver and brain need to function, particularly for memory and nerve signaling. SerinAid PhosphatidylSerine is a fat-like substance found naturally in brain cells, included to support cognitive health.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients—cellulose and silica—which are filler and flow agent.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for these ingredients is mixed. Inositol appears possibly effective for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), metabolic syndrome, and preterm labor, but the data suggest it's probably not helpful for anxiety, diabetic nerve damage, or depression.
Phosphatidylserine is possibly effective for age-related cognitive decline and Alzheimer disease, but evidence for athletic performance is insufficient. Choline's evidence is too sparse to rate for most conditions we have data on, including Alzheimer disease and cognitive decline, though it's important nutritionally during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Inositol is generally well tolerated at typical doses, though some people report mild digestive side effects like diarrhea, gas, or nausea. Pregnancy use has been studied but isn't fully established as safe—use it only under medical supervision if you're pregnant.
Choline is likely safe in pregnancy and lactation when used as advised by your doctor, though it's important to stick to recommended doses since high doses (above 3.5 grams daily) can cause fishy body odor, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Phosphatidylserine is generally well tolerated but may cause flatulence, gastrointestinal upset, headache, insomnia (especially at higher doses), and nausea.

SerinAid PhosphatidylSerine
Anticholinergic Drugs
Theoretically, phosphatidylserine might decrease the effectiveness anticholinergic drugs.
Phosphatidylserine is thought to increase acetylcholine levels, which could theoretically interfere with the activity of anticholinergic agents.
Cholinergic Drugs
Theoretically, phosphatidylserine might have additive effects with cholinergic drugs.
Phosphatidylserine is thought to increase acetylcholine levels, which could theoretically lead to additive cholinergic effects when used with cholinergic drugs.
Inositol
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking inositol with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Clinical research shows that inositol lowers blood glucose levels and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels in patients with diabetes.
Choline
Atropine
Theoretically, choline might decrease the effects of atropine in the brain.
Animal research shows that administering choline one hour before administering atropine can attenuate atropine-induced decreases in brain levels of acetylcholine. Theoretically, concomitant use of choline and atropine may decrease the effects of atropine.
