Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product has one active ingredient, phosphatidylserine. The remaining listed ingredients are inactive, meaning they are not the active ingredient.
They are microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, water, maltodextrin, ascorbyl palmitate, silicon dioxide, and mixed tocopherols.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Phosphatidylserine is rated Possibly Effective for Alzheimer disease and for age-related cognitive decline. For premenstrual syndrome, exercise-induced muscle soreness, and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), the evidence is rated as insufficient to rate, so we can't say whether it helps for those uses.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Phosphatidylserine is generally well tolerated in studies, but long-term safety is not fully established. The most common side effects are gas, stomach upset, headache, insomnia, and nausea.
Insomnia is more likely at 600 mg, and stomach upset has been reported at 200-300 mg per day. The safety data we hold advises against use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, because there isn't enough safety information.
Please talk with your own doctor or pharmacist about your personal situation.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Anticholinergic drugs carry a Moderate interaction rating, because phosphatidylserine may reduce their effectiveness. Cholinergic drugs also carry a Moderate rating, because the combination may have additive effects.
Double-check any prescription or over-the-counter medication with your own doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This supplement may interest adults looking into phosphatidylserine for uses with a Possibly Effective rating. If you take any anticholinergic or cholinergic medication, or are pregnant, breastfeeding, or considering either, be especially careful.

HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Phosphatidyl Serine SF from Klaire Labs has documented interactions, all through its single active ingredient, phosphatidylserine.
It is thought to raise acetylcholine levels (a chemical messenger involved in nerve signaling), which can work against two drug types. Altogether, these interactions span 219 individual medications.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The interactions are rated Moderate. The first is with anticholinergic drugs (medicines that work by blocking acetylcholine).
Theoretically, phosphatidylserine might reduce how well these drugs work.
Cholinergic drugs (medicines that boost acetylcholine activity) are also rated Moderate. Theoretically, taking them together could have additive effects, meaning the combined effect is stronger than either one alone.
