Probiotic Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Probiotic against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This tablet or pill contains 3 active ingredients. Lactase is an enzyme that helps break down lactose, the natural sugar in dairy products.
Bacillus coagulans (listed here as Uni-BactCF-15) is a probiotic — a live microorganism intended to support gut health. The Super Probiotic Blend is a mix of additional beneficial microorganisms.
The product also contains inactive ingredients (microcrystalline cellulose, dicalcium phosphate, stearic acid, croscarmellose sodium, silicon dioxide, vegetable magnesium stearate, and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) that help hold the tablet together and aid in its release.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Lactase is effective for lactose intolerance — the inability to digest lactose in milk and dairy. Evidence is insufficient to rate it for colic or premature infant care.
Bacillus coagulans is possibly effective for constipation and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), though evidence remains preliminary. For antibiotic-associated diarrhea, athletic performance, cancer, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, the evidence isn't established in the data we hold.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactase is generally well tolerated when used as directed, though a rare case of allergic reactions has been reported in someone exposed to powdered lactase in a workplace setting. Bacillus coagulans is generally well tolerated in healthy adults, but product quality and safety data vary.
Because it contains live organisms, there is theoretical concern it could cause infection in severely ill or immunocompromised patients, including those with central lines or indwelling catheters, though such reports remain uncommon in people with intact immune systems. For pregnancy and lactation, lactase is rated likely safe; for Bacillus coagulans, safety data is limited.
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before regular use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your doctor or pharmacist before combining this product with antibiotic drugs — taking them at the same time may reduce how well the probiotic works. Separate the doses according to your healthcare provider's guidance.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product may help with lactose intolerance and possibly with constipation or IBS symptoms. If you take antibiotics, you'll need to time them separately from this probiotic — ask your pharmacist for the best schedule.
Anyone with a weakened immune system, central line, or severe illness should check with their doctor first. Before starting, confirm with your own doctor or pharmacist that it fits your health and medications.

Theoretically, taking antibiotics with Bacillus coagulans might decrease the effectiveness of B. coagulans.
B. coagulans preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. coagulans preparations by at least two hours.
