Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: red raspberry fruit extract in a 4:1 concentrated powder form. The extract delivers the active compounds from the fruit in a more concentrated dose than the whole fruit alone.

There are no other inactive ingredients in this formulation.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Red Raspberry product and its label doesn't state a use — see Red Raspberry's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence we hold doesn't establish whether red raspberry works for aging skin, heart disease, respiratory infections, congestive heart failure, or diabetes—each of these is rated Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate. That doesn't mean it doesn't work; it means the scientific data isn't robust enough yet to say either way.

If you're considering it for a specific health goal, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Red raspberry fruit is generally well tolerated orally by most adults, but overall safety evidence is limited. The most common side effects reported are diarrhea, gastrointestinal upset, and stomach pain—though these don't typically occur at usual doses.

One case of occupational asthma from inhaling red raspberry powder has been reported. During pregnancy, safety data is mixed and not well established, so use only with your provider's guidance.

There isn't enough reliable information to confirm safety while breastfeeding—talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you if you're nursing.

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Red Raspberry.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs; diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 135 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before taking this product, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (such as warfarin, aspirin, or clopidogrel)—red raspberry may increase bleeding risk. Also check if you take insulin or other diabetes medications, as the extract may lower your blood sugar.

Insulin

Red raspberry leaf might reduce glucose levels in patients being treated with insulin.
In one case report, a 38-year-old patient with gestational diabetes, whose blood glucose was being controlled with medical nutrition therapy and insulin, developed hypoglycemia after consuming two servings of raspberry leaf tea daily for 3 days beginning at 32 weeks' gestation. The patient required an insulin dose reduction. The hypoglycemia was considered to be probably related to use of red raspberry leaf tea.
