What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Rosemary against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Rosemary by Herbal Terra
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: certified organic rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) dried leaf liquid extract. Rosemary is a culinary herb used in traditional practice, and this formulation delivers it as a concentrated liquid for easier dosing.
The extract also contains menstruum, a carrier liquid used to preserve and deliver the herb.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Rosemary has possibly effective evidence for supporting memory. For other uses listed — including age-related cognitive decline, alopecia areata (patchy hair loss), and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease — the evidence isn't yet established in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
At normal food amounts, rosemary is generally well tolerated. Concentrated extracts and the undiluted essential oil need caution.
Topically, allergic reactions and contact dermatitis can occur, and it may cause sun sensitivity in some people. When taken orally, the undiluted oil or its camphor component might trigger seizures in susceptible individuals.
During pregnancy, medicinal or large doses should be avoided — food amounts are likely fine, but data on concentrated doses is limited. For breastfeeding, there isn't enough safety data on medicinal doses, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this product is appropriate for you.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this rosemary extract, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take blood thinners (anticoagulants), aspirin, diabetes medications, or any salicylate-containing drugs like choline magnesium trisalicylate or salsalate. These are Moderate concerns.
Also flag any medications your liver processes through the CYP1A2 enzyme — this is a Minor risk, but worth confirming.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're interested in memory support and don't take blood thinners, diabetes drugs, aspirin, or medications processed through your liver's CYP1A2 pathway, this may be worth a conversation with your doctor or pharmacist. Pregnant or breastfeeding?
Check with your healthcare provider first — medicinal doses haven't been well studied in these situations. Before you start, use our medication checker to confirm this product won't interfere with anything you're currently taking.

Rosemary by Herbal Terra Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Herbal Terra's Rosemary liquid extract does interact with several medication types, most seriously through its salicylate content.
Rosemary may have additive bleeding effects when combined with blood thinners (anticoagulants) or aspirin and related salicylate drugs, which could raise bleeding risk — a Moderate concern across aspirin, choline magnesium trisalicylate (Trilisate), and salsalate (Disalcid).
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
It may also increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) if you're taking diabetes medications, since animal research shows rosemary can lower blood glucose levels in people with diabetes; human studies are mixed, but the risk is rated Moderate. Additionally, rosemary may weaken certain medications that your liver processes through a specific enzyme pathway (CYP1A2 substrates) — this is a Minor concern, though it hasn't been observed in people yet.
Altogether, these interactions span 372 individual medications. Use the medication checker on this page to look up your exact prescriptions before starting this product.
