Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

Simply Raspberry Ketones contains one active ingredient: raspberry ketone at 500 mg per capsule. Raspberry ketone is a natural compound from red raspberries, though this supplement is a concentrated form.

The capsule itself is made from vegetable material.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Raspberry Ketone product and its label doesn't state a use — see Raspberry Ketone's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence for raspberry ketone is limited. For hair loss conditions like alopecia areata and for weight management (obesity), we don't have enough reliable human data to say whether it works.

The safety data we hold doesn't support claims about its effectiveness for these uses, so if you're considering it for a specific health goal, that's worth discussing with your doctor.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Raspberry ketones are used in foods safely, but human safety data for supplement doses like this is very limited. Case reports describe stimulant-related side effects — heart palpitations, racing heartbeat, high blood pressure, and in one serious case, a dangerous heart rhythm that required medical intervention.

Other people have reported sweating, diarrhea, and shakiness after taking it. During pregnancy, the safety data advises against use of concentrated raspberry ketone supplements.

Similarly, safety information is not adequate during breastfeeding, so it's best to avoid it then as well. If you're pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Raspberry Ketone.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 174 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Check before taking this if you use stimulant drugs (like some decongestants or attention medications) — raspberry ketone may raise your risk of dangerous heart effects. Also check if you take warfarin or other blood thinners, as this product may reduce how well they work and require dose adjustments.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Simply Raspberry Ketones may be risky if you take stimulant medications or blood thinners — you need to check with your doctor or pharmacist first. The evidence that it actually works for hair loss or weight management isn't established.

If you decide to use it, make sure your own healthcare provider knows and can monitor you for heart-related side effects.

Stimulant Drugs

Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular effects with stimulant drugs.
Structurally, raspberry ketone resembles synephrine, a known stimulant agent. Heart palpitations, elevated blood pressure, coronary vasospasm, pulseless electrical activity arrest, and resistant polymorphic ventricular tachycardia have been reported in patients taking raspberry ketone.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Warfarin (Coumadin)

Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase warfarin dose requirements.
In one case report, a patient taking warfarin 55 mg per week had a decrease in INR over a period of one month while taking raspberry ketone 250 mg daily. A warfarin dose increase to 70 mg per week was necessary to maintain a therapeutic INR while taking raspberry ketone. The mechanism for this potential interaction is not known.

Simply Raspberry Ketones 500 mg by aProvenProduct: Common Questions

Does Simply Raspberry Ketones 500 mg by aProvenProduct interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Simply Raspberry Ketones 500 mg has a known interaction with 174 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Simply Raspberry Ketones 500 mg contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Can I take raspberry ketones if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. Safety data isn't adequate during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so concentrated supplements are best avoided at those times. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you in those situations.
What side effects have been reported?
Cases describe heart palpitations, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure, sweating, diarrhea, and shakiness. One serious case involved a dangerous heart rhythm. Because raspberry ketone resembles a stimulant compound, stimulant-related effects are possible, though they're not well studied in most people.
Does it actually work for weight loss or hair loss?
We don't have enough reliable human evidence to say. The data we hold rates both obesity and alopecia areata as having insufficient evidence, so claims about effectiveness aren't supported yet.
Why does this interact with so many medications?
Raspberry ketone interacts with two drug types — stimulants and blood thinners like warfarin — but that interaction span covers many individual medications within those categories. That's why the total number looks large even though there are only two main concern areas.
Is it safe if I don't take any of the medications that interact with it?
Even without those specific medications, human safety data for these concentrated doses is very limited. The stimulant-like effects reported — including serious heart problems in rare cases — are the bigger safety concern. Check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting it.
