This product contains two active ingredients, both feverfew: feverfew itself and feverfew leaf extract. Feverfew is an herb traditionally used for headaches and inflammation.
The inactive ingredient is a plant-derived capsule shell. Both active forms come from the same plant and share the same active compounds.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence we hold doesn't establish that feverfew works for tension headaches, a skin condition called prurigo nodularis, psoriasis, or rheumatoid arthritis. For all of these uses, the data rates feverfew as having insufficient reliable evidence to make a rating.
That doesn't mean it doesn't work—it means the scientific support isn't strong enough yet to say one way or the other.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Feverfew is generally well tolerated for short-term use, but some people experience allergic reactions or mouth irritation. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal: abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, heartburn, and nausea.
Skin rash can occur in sensitive individuals. If you chew fresh feverfew leaves instead of taking the capsule form, you're more likely to get mouth ulcers and other mouth irritation.
One important note: if you stop taking feverfew after using it long-term, you may experience "post-feverfew syndrome"—anxiety, headaches, and insomnia—so discuss stopping it with your doctor or pharmacist. During pregnancy, feverfew is possibly unsafe because it may stimulate the uterus and its safety hasn't been established—talk with your doctor before using it if you're pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
There isn't enough safety data on breastfeeding, so it's best avoided while nursing. If you're breastfeeding or pregnant, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product.

Feverfew also theoretically inhibits several liver enzymes (CYP2C19, CYP2D6, CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP3A4, and CYP2C8) that break down many common medications. This could raise the blood levels of drugs metabolized by these pathways.
Lab evidence supports this mechanism, though actual human cases haven't been reported yet. These enzymes handle a broad range of prescriptions—heart medications, antidepressants, blood pressure drugs, and others.

Feverfew
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, feverfew might have additive effects and increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Laboratory research suggests that feverfew may inhibit platelet aggregation. Additionally, in one case report, a 36-year-old patient taking feverfew 2400 mg daily for 3 months experienced vaginal bleeding and a prolonged menstrual cycle, with a modest increase in partial thromboplastin time (PTT) and prothrombin time (PT).
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, feverfew might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
Laboratory research shows that feverfew might inhibit CYP1A2. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates
Theoretically, feverfew might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C19.
Laboratory research shows that feverfew might inhibit CYP2C19. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C8 (Cyp2C8) Substrates
Theoretically, feverfew might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C8.
