What’s inside
Full disclosure
Super Bee + contains 4 active ingredients, all derived from bees. Bee pollen is pollen collected by honeybees, rich in nutrients and historically used for athletic performance and general wellness.
Royal jelly is a creamy secretion produced by worker bees, studied mainly for menopausal symptoms. Honey is the familiar bee product used in traditional medicine for cough, burns, and mouth sores.
Bee propolis is a resin-like substance bees use to seal their hives, researched for oral mouth sores and cold sores. The capsule also contains several inactive ingredients—gelatin, vegetable cellulose, vegetable magnesium stearate, vegetable stearic acid, and silica—which serve as binders and capsule material.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for Super Bee +'s ingredients is mixed. Honey shows the strongest support: it's possibly effective for cold sores, cough, mouth sores, burns, and dry eye.
Royal jelly is possibly effective for menopausal symptoms but possibly ineffective for hay fever and physical performance. Bee pollen is rated possibly ineffective for athletic performance, with insufficient evidence for hay fever, amenorrhea, prostate health, and hot flashes.
Bee propolis is possibly effective for mouth sores and cold sores, possibly effective for diabetes, but insufficient evidence exists for dengue fever. Overall, if you're considering this product for a specific condition, the evidence is strongest for honey's use with cough or cold sores, and modest for royal jelly in menopause.
For other uses, reliable evidence is either lacking or points toward limited benefit.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
All four ingredients are generally well tolerated by most people, but allergic reactions—sometimes severe—are a real concern. Bee pollen and royal jelly carry the highest risk: people with a history of pollen allergies, especially to ragweed, chrysanthemums, daisies, and related plants, face a serious risk of reactions ranging from itching and swelling to anaphylaxis.
Royal jelly poses particularly high risk for people with asthma or atopy (a tendency to allergies), with rare cases of fatal anaphylaxis reported. Honey is generally safe as food for adults and children over 1 year old, though raw or unprocessed honey from Turkey's Black Sea coast can contain toxins.
Common mild side effects with honey include nausea and stomach pain. Regarding pregnancy: bee pollen is rated possibly unsafe; royal jelly and bee propolis lack sufficient safety data and are best avoided; honey is likely safe.
For breastfeeding: honey eaten as food is considered fine, but medicinal use warrants discussion with your provider; royal jelly and bee propolis lack sufficient data and should be avoided; bee pollen data on file shows it's best avoided. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this product is appropriate for you.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Super Bee +, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take warfarin (Coumadin) or other blood thinners—bee pollen and royal jelly may increase bleeding risk, and propolis may reduce warfarin's effectiveness. Blood pressure medications warrant caution due to royal jelly's theoretical blood-lowering effect.
Seizure medications, particularly phenytoin (Dilantin), may be affected by honey. Additionally, if you take any medication metabolized by your liver—including many antidepressants, beta-blockers, statins, and immunosuppressants—propolis theoretically may raise drug levels at high doses, though human evidence is limited.
Use the medication checker on this page to search your exact drugs.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Super Bee + may appeal to you if you're seeking support for cough, cold sores, mouth sores, or menopausal symptoms, and you don't take medications that interact with bee products or warfarin. However, if you take blood thinners, blood pressure medications, seizure medications, or any drug metabolized by your liver's enzyme systems, you'll need to check your medications carefully before starting.
Anyone with a history of pollen allergies or asthma should be cautious of serious allergic reactions. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before adding this supplement to your routine, especially if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or on any medications.

Super Bee + by Wonder Laboratories Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Super Bee + by Wonder Laboratories contains four bee-derived ingredients—bee pollen, royal jelly, honey, and bee propolis—that together carry documented interactions with medications.
The most serious concern is with warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner: both bee pollen and royal jelly may increase bleeding risk, and propolis may actually decrease warfarin's effectiveness, creating unpredictable anticoagulation. Bee pollen's interaction with warfarin has been documented in a case where a patient's blood-thinning level (INR) more than doubled after starting the supplement.

Royal jelly may lower blood pressure, raising Moderate concerns if you take blood pressure medications. Honey and propolis both theoretically affect how your liver metabolizes certain drugs through several enzyme pathways (CYP3A4, CYP2C19, CYP2D6, CYP1A2, CYP2C9, and CYP2E1 for propolis alone), though human evidence is limited.
Honey carries a Minor theoretical risk with blood thinners and seizure medications; propolis carries Moderate concerns with multiple enzyme-metabolized drugs and antiplatelet agents.
Altogether, these interactions span 1,037 individual medications. No ingredient in this product has been checked with a complete absence of documented interactions.
Use the medication checker on this page to look up your exact prescriptions before starting, and discuss any matches with your doctor or pharmacist.

For each ingredient in Super Bee + with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Bee Propolis
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, propolis might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
In vitro research shows that propolis water extract and the propolis constituent, caffeic acid phenethyl ester, can inhibit platelet aggregation. Additionally, evidence from an animal model shows that taking propolis in addition to warfarin decreases INR, suggesting that propolis can decrease the effectiveness of warfarin.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, high doses of propolis might increase blood levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
In vitro research shows that propolis extract can inhibit CYP1A2. However, animal research shows that propolis extract does not significantly affect CYP1A2 activity when administered to rats at doses up to 250 mg/kg. It is postulated that the constituents of propolis that inhibit CYP1A2 in vitro do not have significant effects in vivo due to low bioavailability and hepatic first-pass effect. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates
Theoretically, high doses of propolis might increase blood levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C19.
In vitro research shows that propolis extract can inhibit CYP2C19. However, animal research shows that propolis extract does not significantly affect CYP2C19 activity when administered to rats at doses up to 250 mg/kg. It is postulated that the constituents of propolis that inhibit CYP2C19 in vitro do not have significant effects in vivo due to low bioavailability and hepatic first-pass effect. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C9 (Cyp2C9) Substrates
Theoretically, high doses of propolis might increase blood levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.
In vitro research shows that propolis extract can inhibit CYP2C9. However, animal research shows that propolis extract does not significantly affect CYP2C9 activity when administered to rats at doses up to 250 mg/kg. It is postulated that the constituents of propolis that inhibit CYP2C9 in vitro do not have significant effects in vivo due to low bioavailability and hepatic first-pass effect. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2D6 (Cyp2D6) Substrates
Theoretically, high doses of propolis might increase blood levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro research shows that propolis extract can inhibit CYP2D6. However, animal research shows that propolis extract does not significantly affect CYP2D6 activity when administered to rats at doses up to 250 mg/kg. It is postulated that the constituents of propolis that inhibit CYP2D6 in vitro do not have significant effects in vivo due to low bioavailability and hepatic first-pass effect. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates
Theoretically, propolis might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2E1.
In vitro research shows that propolis can inhibit CYP2E1. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, high doses of propolis might increase blood levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Some in vitro research shows that propolis extract can inhibit CYP3A4; however, other in vitro research shows that propolis has no effect on CYP3A4 activity. Furthermore, animal research shows that propolis extract does not significantly affect CYP3A4 activity when administered to rats at doses up to 250 mg/kg. It is postulated that the constituents of propolis that might in inhibit CYP3A4 in vitro do not have significant effects in vivo due to low bioavailability and hepatic first-pass effect. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Theoretically, propolis might decrease the effectiveness of warfarin.
Animal research shows that taking propolis in addition to warfarin decreases the international normalized ratio (INR). This effect has not been reported in humans.
Honey
Phenytoin (Dilantin)
Theoretically, honey might increase levels of phenytoin.
In an animal model, the rate and extent of absorption of phenytoin was increased by honey. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, honey may increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro, honey inhibits platelet aggregation and increases the time to clotting. Furthermore, animal research suggests that feeding mice large doses of honey for 12 days increases bleeding time when compared with no intervention. However, these effects have not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, honey might decrease levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4, but research is conflicting.
Some clinical research shows that honey induces CYP3A4. However, other clinical studies found no effect on CYP3A4 activity. Different honey preparations may have different effects on CYP3A4.
Royal Jelly
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, royal jelly might increase the risk of hypotension when taken with antihypertensive drugs.
Animal research suggests that royal jelly might lower blood pressure.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Royal jelly might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with warfarin.
In one case, an 87-year-old male who was previously stabilized on warfarin developed hematuria and was found to have an INR of 7.29 after taking a royal jelly supplement for one week.
Bee Pollen
Warfarin (Coumadin)
There is some concern that bee pollen might interact with warfarin and increase the risk of bleeding.
In one case report, a patient on warfarin had a stable international normalized ratio (INR) of 1.9-3.3 for 9 months. The patient's INR was found to be 7.1 after starting bee pollen granules one teaspoon twice daily for approximately one month. The patient's warfarin dose was decreased by approximately 11% in order to return the INR to the therapeutic range while continuing the bee pollen supplement.
