Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Super Bee + is a 4-ingredient capsule built around bee products. You're getting bee pollen, royal jelly, honey, and bee propolis — each a different part of the hive with its own role.
The inactive ingredients are gelatin, vegetable cellulose, vegetable magnesium stearate, vegetable stearic acid, and silica, which serve as binders and capsule material.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for this product's uses is mixed. Honey shows the strongest support — it's possibly effective for cold sores, cough, oral mouth sores, burns, and dry eye.
Royal jelly is possibly effective for menopausal symptoms but possibly ineffective for hay fever and athletic performance. Bee pollen is possibly ineffective for athletic performance and lacks reliable evidence for hay fever, amenorrhea, prostate enlargement, and hot flashes.
Propolis shows promise for mouth sores and cold sores, possibly effective for diabetes, but we don't have enough data to rate it for dengue fever. Overall, the product works best if you're targeting cough, cold sores, or mouth sores — honey's the ingredient doing that work.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
All four ingredients are generally well tolerated by most people, but allergic reactions are a real concern, especially if you have a history of bee-related allergies, asthma, or hay fever from pollen. Bee pollen carries a particular risk: people allergic to ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds, or daisies can have severe reactions including throat swelling and anaphylaxis.
Royal jelly poses similar dangers in sensitive people — it can trigger itching, hives, shortness of breath, and rarely, life-threatening airway closure or death in those with asthma or atopy. Honey is generally safe for adults and children over 1 year old; most side effects are mild (nausea, stomach pain, burning when applied to skin).
Propolis may cause headache in some users and allergic contact reactions on skin. Bee pollen and royal jelly are not recommended in pregnancy or while breastfeeding due to insufficient safety data.
Honey is likely safe in pregnancy and acceptable while breastfeeding as food, though you should check with your provider about medicinal use.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before starting Super Bee +, check with your pharmacist if you take blood thinners (like warfarin), blood pressure medication, the seizure drug phenytoin (Dilantin), or any drugs metabolized by your liver — propolis can theoretically affect multiple drug-metabolizing pathways at high doses. If you're unsure whether your medication falls into one of these categories, use the medication checker on this page.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is best for people targeting cough, mouth sores, or cold sores — honey's the star there. If you take warfarin, blood pressure medication, anti-seizure drugs, or anything metabolized heavily by your liver, talk to your pharmacist before starting.
Anyone with a pollen allergy, asthma, or history of bee-product reactions should avoid it or get clear medical approval first.

Super Bee + by Wonder Laboratories Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Super Bee + by Wonder Laboratories contains four bee-derived ingredients, and we do have documented interaction concerns with several medication types.
The most serious interactions involve blood thinners. Both bee pollen and royal jelly may increase bleeding risk with warfarin (Coumadin), with one case report showing a patient's clotting ratio jump to 7.1 after starting bee pollen.
Propolis theoretically carries the same risk and may also decrease warfarin effectiveness.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Beyond blood thinners, you'll want to be careful with blood pressure medications — royal jelly may lower blood pressure further when taken alongside antihypertensive drugs. Honey may theoretically increase phenytoin (Dilantin) levels and affect how your liver processes certain drug classes, though the evidence is mixed.
Propolis presents the broadest theoretical concern: at high doses it may interfere with how your body metabolizes drugs broken down by several liver pathways — including CYP3A4, CYP2C9, CYP2D6, CYP1A2, CYP2C19, and CYP2E1 substrates — raising their blood levels.
Altogether, these interactions span 1,025 individual medications. Please check your exact medications with the tool on this page before starting, especially if you take a blood thinner, a blood pressure drug, an anti-seizure medication, or anything metabolized by your liver.

Bee Propolis
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, propolis might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
In vitro research shows that propolis water extract and the propolis constituent, caffeic acid phenethyl ester, can inhibit platelet aggregation. Additionally, evidence from an animal model shows that taking propolis in addition to warfarin decreases INR, suggesting that propolis can decrease the effectiveness of warfarin.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, high doses of propolis might increase blood levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
In vitro research shows that propolis extract can inhibit CYP1A2. However, animal research shows that propolis extract does not significantly affect CYP1A2 activity when administered to rats at doses up to 250 mg/kg. It is postulated that the constituents of propolis that inhibit CYP1A2 in vitro do not have significant effects in vivo due to low bioavailability and hepatic first-pass effect. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates
Theoretically, high doses of propolis might increase blood levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C19.
In vitro research shows that propolis extract can inhibit CYP2C19. However, animal research shows that propolis extract does not significantly affect CYP2C19 activity when administered to rats at doses up to 250 mg/kg. It is postulated that the constituents of propolis that inhibit CYP2C19 in vitro do not have significant effects in vivo due to low bioavailability and hepatic first-pass effect. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C9 (Cyp2C9) Substrates
Theoretically, high doses of propolis might increase blood levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.
In vitro research shows that propolis extract can inhibit CYP2C9. However, animal research shows that propolis extract does not significantly affect CYP2C9 activity when administered to rats at doses up to 250 mg/kg. It is postulated that the constituents of propolis that inhibit CYP2C9 in vitro do not have significant effects in vivo due to low bioavailability and hepatic first-pass effect. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2D6 (Cyp2D6) Substrates
Theoretically, high doses of propolis might increase blood levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro research shows that propolis extract can inhibit CYP2D6. However, animal research shows that propolis extract does not significantly affect CYP2D6 activity when administered to rats at doses up to 250 mg/kg. It is postulated that the constituents of propolis that inhibit CYP2D6 in vitro do not have significant effects in vivo due to low bioavailability and hepatic first-pass effect. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates
Theoretically, propolis might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2E1.
In vitro research shows that propolis can inhibit CYP2E1. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, high doses of propolis might increase blood levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Some in vitro research shows that propolis extract can inhibit CYP3A4; however, other in vitro research shows that propolis has no effect on CYP3A4 activity. Furthermore, animal research shows that propolis extract does not significantly affect CYP3A4 activity when administered to rats at doses up to 250 mg/kg. It is postulated that the constituents of propolis that might in inhibit CYP3A4 in vitro do not have significant effects in vivo due to low bioavailability and hepatic first-pass effect. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Theoretically, propolis might decrease the effectiveness of warfarin.
Animal research shows that taking propolis in addition to warfarin decreases the international normalized ratio (INR). This effect has not been reported in humans.
Honey
Phenytoin (Dilantin)
Theoretically, honey might increase levels of phenytoin.
In an animal model, the rate and extent of absorption of phenytoin was increased by honey. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, honey may increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro, honey inhibits platelet aggregation and increases the time to clotting. Furthermore, animal research suggests that feeding mice large doses of honey for 12 days increases bleeding time when compared with no intervention. However, these effects have not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, honey might decrease levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4, but research is conflicting.
Some clinical research shows that honey induces CYP3A4. However, other clinical studies found no effect on CYP3A4 activity. Different honey preparations may have different effects on CYP3A4.
Royal Jelly
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, royal jelly might increase the risk of hypotension when taken with antihypertensive drugs.
Animal research suggests that royal jelly might lower blood pressure.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Royal jelly might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with warfarin.
In one case, an 87-year-old male who was previously stabilized on warfarin developed hematuria and was found to have an INR of 7.29 after taking a royal jelly supplement for one week.
Bee Pollen
Warfarin (Coumadin)
There is some concern that bee pollen might interact with warfarin and increase the risk of bleeding.
In one case report, a patient on warfarin had a stable international normalized ratio (INR) of 1.9-3.3 for 9 months. The patient's INR was found to be 7.1 after starting bee pollen granules one teaspoon twice daily for approximately one month. The patient's warfarin dose was decreased by approximately 11% in order to return the INR to the therapeutic range while continuing the bee pollen supplement.
