What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking T5 To T9 HCl against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. HelloPharmacist Scorecard of T5 To T9 HCl by Chiro-Zyme
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This 12-ingredient supplement is built around digestive enzymes: protease, lipase, amylase, and others designed to help break down food. It also contains beet for nutrient content and betaine HCl (a stomach-acid booster meant to support digestion).
The inactive ingredients include a vegetable capsule and phytase. The blend includes several enzyme types we hold limited effectiveness data on.
What we know is that beet has been studied for athletic performance and exercise recovery (possibly effective for both), while the other active ingredients lack established evidence in our data.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
Beet in this formula is possibly effective for athletic performance and for reducing exercise-induced muscle soreness. For other uses, we don't have reliable evidence that beet works — it's rated possibly ineffective for COPD, and insufficient evidence exists for cognitive function and blood lipids.
For the digestive enzymes and betaine HCl, we hold no established effectiveness ratings. The evidence for these ingredients' roles is insufficient to rate in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Beet is widely eaten as food and generally well tolerated, but concentrated supplements lack the safety track record of food — use caution. The most common side effect is harmless red or black discoloration of stools.
In rare cases, very large amounts could theoretically cause low blood calcium or kidney damage. Betaine HCl may irritate the stomach and is not suitable for anyone with ulcers, gastritis, or acid reflux.
Proteolytic enzymes (protease and pepsin) are generally well tolerated but may cause digestive upset or allergic reactions. Lipase is generally well tolerated in supplement form, though people with serious digestive conditions should use it only under medical guidance.
There isn't enough data on lipase during breastfeeding — check with your healthcare provider first.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Chiro-Zyme, double-check your medications with your doctor or pharmacist if you take any drugs metabolized by the liver enzyme CYP3A4 (Moderate severity risk — beet may raise their levels) or blood pressure medications. Also check if you take H2-blockers, antacids, or proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) for heartburn or acid reflux — betaine HCl may reduce their effectiveness (Minor severity for all three).
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is a digestive enzyme blend with beet and betaine HCl, suitable for people looking for digestive support — but it requires caution if you take acid-reducing medications, blood pressure medications, or certain liver-metabolized drugs. If you have ulcers, gastritis, or acid reflux, betaine HCl is not a good choice.
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting, especially if you're on any prescription medications.

T5 To T9 HCl by Chiro-Zyme Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Chiro-Zyme T5 To T9 HCl does interact with certain medications, mainly through its beet and betaine HCl content.
The most serious concern is beet's effect on a large group of drugs metabolized by the liver enzyme CYP3A4 (Moderate severity) — beet may increase levels of these medications, potentially causing side effects. Beet also theoretically affects drugs broken down by another liver enzyme, CYP1A2, and could slightly lower blood pressure when taken with blood pressure medications.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Betaine HCl raises stomach acid and may reduce how well acid-reducing medications work. This affects three drug types: H2-blockers (used for heartburn), antacids, and proton pump inhibitors or PPIs (all Minor severity).
If you take any of these, the medication's intended effect could be weakened.
We could not check several ingredients in this product — amylase, cellulase, invertase, glucoamylase, alpha-galactosidase, hemicellulase, and diastase — because we hold no interaction data for them. Altogether, these interactions span 884 individual medications.
Use the medication checker on this page to see if any of your drugs are affected, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product if you take any prescription medications.

Beet
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, beet might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that betanin, the major pigment in beet, competitively inhibits CYP3A4 in a dose-dependent manner similarly to strong CYP3A4 inhibitor ketoconazole.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Beet and beetroot contain nitrates, which can cause vasodilation, potentially leading to lower blood pressure. However, a study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition using concentrated beetroot juice found no significant impact on blood pressure or heart rate in different age groups. Other small clinical studies suggest that while beet consumption might transiently lower blood pressure due to vessel dilation, there's no consistent evidence of a lasting effect. Overall, the theoretical risk of reduced blood pressure due to beet's nitrate content exists, but studies generally indicate a low and temporary impact rather than a sustained decrease.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, beet might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that beet induces CYP1A2 enzymes.
Betaine HCl
Antacids
Betaine hydrochloride increases stomach acidity and could decrease the effects of antacids.
In human research, betaine hydrochloride increases stomach acidity. Antacids are taken to decrease stomach acidity. Theoretically, taking betaine hydrochloride along with antacids might decrease the effects of the antacids.
H2-Blockers
Betaine hydrochloride increases stomach acidity and could decrease the effects of H2-blockers.
In human research, betaine hydrochloride increases stomach acidity. H2-blockers are used to decrease stomach acidity. Theoretically, taking betaine hydrochloride along with H2-blockers might decrease the effects of H2-blockers.
Proton Pump Inhibitors (Ppis)
Betaine hydrochloride increases stomach acidity and could decrease the effects of PPIs.
In human research, betaine hydrochloride increases stomach acidity. PPIs are used to decrease stomach acidity. Theoretically, taking betaine hydrochloride along with PPIs might decrease the effects of PPIs
