Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 2 of its 2 active ingredients.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product has 2 active ingredients. Boron citrate is a mineral form of boron, which your body needs in small amounts — it's established as effective for boron deficiency and is being studied for vaginal yeast infections and radiation skin damage, though evidence for those uses is still incomplete.

LJ100 standardized Eurycoma longifolia jack extract is a herbal concentrate from the roots of this Southeast Asian plant, used primarily for sexual desire, where current evidence rates it possibly effective. The product also contains inactive ingredients including glycerin, vegetable cellulose, purified water, and food colorings (titanium dioxide, FD&C Yellow 6, FD&C Red 40, and FD&C Blue 1).

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Moderate

Some clinical evidence supports this product's ingredients for its stated purpose, but it isn't conclusive.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: Total testosterone support muscle and strength.
  • We looked for evidence on: Age-related testosterone deficiency, Athletic performance, Muscle strength, Sexual desire, Male Infertility, Libido — and 3 related terms.
  • The strongest evidence on file: Eurycoma Longifolia is rated "Possibly Effective" for Sexual desire (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Boron is rated "Possibly Ineffective" for Athletic performance.
  • Also on file: Eurycoma Longifolia is rated "Possibly Ineffective" for Athletic performance.

Boron citrate is likely effective for preventing or correcting boron deficiency. For vaginal candidiasis (yeast infection) and radiation dermatitis (skin damage from radiation therapy), the evidence rates it possibly effective — meaning there's some promise, but more research is needed.

For athletic performance, the available evidence suggests it's probably not effective. Eurycoma longifolia extract is rated possibly effective for sexual desire based on current research.

For athletic performance, back pain, osteoporosis, and diabetes, we don't hold enough reliable evidence to rate it one way or the other.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 2 of the 2 matched ingredients.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 2 of 2.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 2 of 2.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Boron citrate is generally well tolerated when doses stay below 20 mg daily. At typical supplement doses, the most common side effects are anorexia (loss of appetite), dermatitis (skin irritation), erythema (redness), and indigestion.

High chronic doses or acute overdose can cause skin damage, hair loss, and in severe cases, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea — but these risks are not a concern at normal supplement levels. Eurycoma longifolia is generally tolerated in short-term studies, though long-term safety and product quality consistency are uncertain.

Because the extract may increase testosterone, there is a theoretical risk of testosterone-related side effects like acne, insulin resistance, and liver stress if levels climb beyond the normal range. During pregnancy, the safety data advises against use; while breastfeeding, there isn't enough information to know if it's safe, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 2 matched ingredients can interact with medications — Eurycoma Longifolia.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • For scale: 248 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Check your medications against this product if you take propranolol (Inderal) for blood pressure or heart rhythm — Eurycoma longifolia can reduce how well it works (Moderate severity). Also double-check if you're on CYP1A2, CYP2C19, or CYP2A6 substrate drugs or testosterone therapy, though those interactions are theoretical at this point (Minor severity).

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Nutrex Research Clinical Edge may be worth considering if you're looking to support sexual desire, correct a boron deficiency, or explore boron for other uses — but the interaction with propranolol and other blood-pressure or heart medications is real and worth checking first. If you're on any prescription medication, especially hormonal therapies or drugs your liver processes heavily, have a conversation with your pharmacist before starting.

Propranolol (Inderal)

Eurycoma longifolia can reduce the levels and clinical effects of propranolol.
A small clinical study in healthy persons shows that taking a single dose of a water-based Eurycoma longifolia extract 200 mg, in combination with a single dose of propranolol 80 mg, reduces the propranolol area under the curve (AUC) by 29%, reduces the peak concentration by 42%, and increases time to peak concentration by 86% when compared with control. Since the elimination half-life of propranolol did not change, it seems that Eurycoma longifolia alters the kinetics of propranolol by decreasing its absorption in the gut, and not by altering its metabolism. It is not known if separating administration will prevent this interaction.

Likelihood Probable Evidence A
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates

Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia might increase levels CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that methanolic Eurycoma longifolia root extract weakly inhibits CYP1A2 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 2A6 (Cyp2A6) Substrates

Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia might increase levels of CYP2A6 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that methanolic Eurycoma longifolia root extract weakly inhibits CYP2A6 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates

Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia might increase levels of CYP2C19 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that methanolic Eurycoma longifolia root extract weakly inhibits CYP2C19 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Testosterone

Theoretically, Eurycoma longifolia may further increase levels of testosterone.
A clinical study in aging males with testosterone levels below 300 ng/dL shows that taking a specific water extract of Eurycoma longifolia roots (Physta; Biotropics Malaysia) 100-200 mg daily with breakfast for 12 weeks increases total testosterone levels by 8% to 11% when compared with placebo. It is unclear whether this increase would occur in individuals with normal testosterone levels.

Tested by Nutrex Research Clinical Edge: Common Questions

Does Tested by Nutrex Research Clinical Edge interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Tested has a known interaction with 248 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Tested contains 2 active ingredients, and an interaction can come from any of them. We check every ingredient, combine the results into one list per medication, and show which ingredient and mechanism is responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Is boron safe to take every day?
Boron is generally well tolerated when you stay below the upper safe limit of 20 mg daily. At normal supplement doses, the main side effects are mild — things like loss of appetite, skin irritation, or indigestion. High chronic doses are where problems start.
Can I take this if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
For boron, the safety data advises against it during pregnancy because high amounts may be harmful to the fetus, and there isn't enough information to know it's safe while breastfeeding. For Eurycoma longifolia, avoid it during pregnancy, and there isn't enough safety information for breastfeeding either. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about your specific situation.
Does this product actually work for sexual function?
The Eurycoma longifolia extract is rated possibly effective for sexual desire — meaning there's some research support, but we'd like more evidence. Results vary from person to person.
What is boron actually used for in the body?
Boron is a mineral your body needs in small amounts for normal function. This product's boron citrate is established as effective for correcting boron deficiency. It's also being studied for vaginal yeast infections and radiation skin damage, though the evidence for those uses is still developing.
Are there any fillers or junk in this product?
The product contains inactive ingredients that are standard capsule materials and colorings — glycerin, vegetable cellulose, purified water, and food dyes. These are excipients that help make the capsule work, not active ingredients.
I take propranolol for my heart. Can I take this?
Not without checking with your pharmacist first. The Eurycoma longifolia in this product can reduce propranolol's levels in your blood and make it less effective. Your doctor or pharmacist needs to know you're considering this before you start.
