What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product is pure wild cherry fruit extract in powder form — just one active ingredient, no fillers or added excipients. Wild cherry is a traditional herbal ingredient sometimes used in cough syrups and throat lozenges, though the evidence supporting its effectiveness isn't included in our data.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
We don't hold effectiveness ratings for wild cherry extract, so we can't tell you from our data whether it works for any particular purpose.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Wild cherry contains compounds that can produce cyanide when broken down in your body, which is the main safety concern here. In small amounts — like what's in a commercial cough drop — it's generally considered safe.
But large doses can be dangerous. A documented case involved a woman who consumed around 300 grams of wild cherries steeped in alcohol and developed severe symptoms including headache, nausea, vomiting, confusion, difficulty breathing, and eventually coma — a medical emergency.
The safety data advises against use while breastfeeding due to insufficient safety information and the cyanide risk.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check any medication metabolized by the liver enzyme CYP3A4 before you start — that includes statins for cholesterol, antifungal medications, and many others. The interaction is rated Moderate and hasn't been seen in humans yet, but it's real enough that we need to rule out your specific drugs.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Wild cherry extract is worth a double-check if you take any medications metabolized by your liver, especially cholesterol drugs or antifungals. Because of the cyanide-forming compounds it contains, stick to normal doses and avoid use if you're breastfeeding.
Talk with your pharmacist about your medications and how much of this product you're planning to use.

Wild Cherry Extract by BulkSupplements.com Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Wild Cherry Extract by BulkSupplements.com contains one active ingredient that does interact with medications we've documented.
Wild cherry can inhibit an enzyme in your liver called CYP3A4, which breaks down a large number of common drugs. In theory, this could raise the levels of those medications in your bloodstream — potentially too high.
However, this interaction hasn't actually been reported in people yet, only observed in lab studies.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The drugs affected by CYP3A4 inhibition include cholesterol medications like lovastatin, antifungals like ketoconazole and itraconazole, and many others. Altogether, these interactions span 633 individual medications.
Because the interaction is theoretical rather than proven in humans, the severity is rated Moderate — not Major — but it's still one you'll want to check before you start wild cherry if you take any prescription drugs.
Use the medication checker below to look up your exact medications against wild cherry before adding this to your routine.

Wild Cherry Fruit Extract, Powder
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
In vitro research suggests that wild cherry can inhibit cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) enzymes. Theoretically, wild cherry might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4. However, so far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and others.
