🩺 Clinical
This is an over-the-counter topical ointment marketed under FDA's monograph rules for hemorrhoidal products. It contains phenylephrine hydrochloride, a decongestant ingredient typically used to reduce swelling and provide temporary relief in hemorrhoidal tissue. Mineral oil and petrolatum are lubricating and protective agents commonly included in such products to soften stool passage and soothe irritated skin. The ointment is applied directly to the affected area for localized symptom management.
