Clinical
Acetaminophen is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and to reduce fever. Acetaminophen is in a class of medications called analgesics (pain relievers) and antipyretics (fever reducers). It works by changing the way the body senses pain and by cooling the body.
Read the full MedlinePlus article ↗This is an OTC monograph kit containing separate daytime and nighttime liquid formulations for cold and flu symptoms. The daytime product contains acetaminophen (a pain reliever and fever reducer), dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant), and phenylephrine (a nasal decongestant). The nighttime product replaces the decongestant with doxylamine succinate, which is commonly used as a sleep aid. Together, these ingredients are typically used to address multiple cold and flu symptoms throughout the day and night.
