Clinical
Medi-First Cough Cold is an over-the-counter oral tablet containing four active ingredients commonly used together for cold and cough relief. Acetaminophen is typically used to reduce fever and relieve pain, while dextromethorphan is commonly used as a cough suppressant. Guaifenesin functions as an expectorant to help thin mucus, and phenylephrine hydrochloride is a nasal decongestant. This product is marketed under the FDA's over-the-counter monograph system, which establishes standards for its category rather than requiring individual product approval.
