Clinical
Coppertone Protect and Tan is an over-the-counter sunscreen lotion applied to the skin. It contains four UV-filtering ingredients (avobenzone, homosalate, octisalate, and octocrylene) that are commonly used to absorb and scatter ultraviolet rays from the sun. The product is formulated as an SPF 45 lotion under FDA's monograph rules for sunscreen products. These ingredients are typical components in topical sunscreen preparations intended to help reduce UV exposure to the skin.
