🩺 Clinical
Acetaminophen is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and to reduce fever. Acetaminophen is in a class of medications called analgesics (pain relievers) and antipyretics (fever reducers). It works by changing the way the body senses pain and by cooling the body.
Read the full MedlinePlus article ↗This is an over-the-counter combination kit containing softgels for daytime and nighttime use. The daytime softgels contain acetaminophen (typically used to reduce fever and relieve pain), dextromethorphan hydrobromide (commonly used to suppress cough), and phenylephrine hydrochloride (typically used as a nasal decongestant). The nighttime softgels add doxylamine succinate, an antihistamine that commonly causes drowsiness and is often included in nighttime cold and flu products. This is an OTC monograph drug, meaning it follows FDA's established rules for this product category rather than being individually reviewed.
