What happens

Increased lumateperone exposure, an increased risk of lumateperone-related adverse events and an increased risk of QT interval prolongation

Interaction Deep Dive

Avoid concomitant use of ciprofloxacin and lumateperone (QT prolonging agent) due to increased risk of additive QT effects, risk factors for QT prolongation or torsade de pointes23. Concomitant use of lumateperone (CYP3A4 substrate) and ciprofloxacin (moderate CYP3A4 inhibitor) increases the exposure of lumateperone and may increase the risk of adverse reactions. If coadministered, reduce the lumateperone dosage to 21 mg once daily 1.
