What happens
Increased pravastatin exposure and an increased risk of myopathy
Interaction Deep Dive
Concomitant use of bempedoic acid and pravastatin caused an increase in pravastatin concentration and may increase the risk of pravastatin-related myopathy. Administration of pravastatin 40 mg with steady-state bempedoic acid 240 mg in healthy subjects resulted in 2-fold increases in both AUC and Cmax of pravastatin acid. Avoid concomitant use of bempedoic acid with pravastatin doses greater than 40 mg1.
