1-epiandrosterone and Rivaroxaban

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Rivaroxaban and 1-epiandrosterone in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for 1-epiandrosterone at all — not against Rivaroxaban, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Rivaroxaban. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 205,037 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Rivaroxaban that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. 1-epiandrosterone’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no 1-epiandrosterone side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that 1-epiandrosterone has no side effects.

This page covers 1-epiandrosterone only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Rivaroxaban page lists 285 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Rivaroxaban page

“Grapefruit is the interaction I would flag first for anyone taking rivaroxaban (Xarelto). It slows how the body clears this blood thinner, and higher levels mean more bleeding risk.”

About 1-epiandrosterone

What is 1-epiandrosterone?

1-epiandrosterone
  • Muscle building
  • Athletic performance
  • Improving body composition
  • Strength gains

1-epiandrosterone (often sold as a '1-andro' prohormone) is a steroid-related compound marketed to bodybuilders for muscle and strength gains, but solid human evidence is very limited and the safety profile is poorly understood. Because it can act like an anabolic steroid in the body and may carry liver, hormonal, and cardiovascular risks, most people should avoid it and talk to a pharmacist or doctor first.

Not a plant; a synthetic or lab-made steroid compound (prohormone) · Capsules, tablets, sometimes part of multi-ingredient bodybuilding 'prohormone' supplements

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether 1-epiandrosterone is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our 1-epiandrosterone record says about it on its own.

1-epiandrosterone: dosing

There is no established safe or effective dose for 1-epiandrosterone. Because these products can act like steroids and may carry real risks, do not assume "more is better." The safest choice for most people is to avoid it.

About Rivaroxaban

What Is Rivaroxaban Used For?

Brand name: Xarelto

Rivaroxaban tablets are used to reduce the risk of stroke in adults with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm), treat deep vein thrombosis (DVT, a blood clot in a vein) and pulmonary embolism (PE, a blood clot in the lungs), and lower the chances of these clots coming back. They also help prevent clots after hip or knee replacement surgery, protect hospitalized patients at risk for clots, and — in combination with aspirin — reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events in adults with coronary artery disease (CAD) or peripheral artery disease (PAD).

Rivaroxaban tablets are also approved for treating VTE (venous thromboembolism, blood clots in veins) and preventing recurrence in pediatric patients from birth to under 18 years, and for preventing clots in children aged 2 and older with congenital heart disease after the Fontan procedure. Rivaroxaban for oral suspension (available as Rivaroxaban Granule and Xarelto oral suspension) is specifically indicated for these two pediatric uses.
