The interaction on file is really about thyroid hormone medicines (like levothyroxine), where lab and animal studies hint that alpha-lipoic acid might slow the conversion of T4 into the active T3 form. HCG (Pregnyl) is a completely different kind of drug. It's a hormone given by injection for things like fertility treatment or to trigger ovulation, and it does not rely on the thyroid pathway that this interaction describes.

So in plain terms, I would not expect alpha-lipoic acid to meaningfully change how HCG works. The thyroid concern simply doesn't apply here.
