Here's the concern with pairing asarabacca and your Hyzaar (which combines hydrochlorothiazide and losartan). Asarabacca often contains aristolochic acid, a compound the FDA flags as genuinely unsafe because it can seriously harm the kidneys. Your blood pressure combo already leans on healthy kidney function. The water pill (hydrochlorothiazide) can dehydrate you and shift your electrolytes, and losartan changes how blood flows through the kidneys. Adding a kidney-toxic plant on top stacks the risk.

Together you could see rising creatinine, less urine, swelling, fatigue, or dizziness from dehydration. Honestly, because of the aristolochic acid danger, I'd steer clear of asarabacca entirely. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before using it with these medications.
