Ayurveda + Levetiracetam
Levetiracetam brand names: Keppra, Elepsia XR, Spritam.
We found no known interaction between Ayurveda and Levetiracetam in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Ayurveda and Levetiracetam
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Levetiracetam and Ayurveda in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Ayurveda at all — not against Levetiracetam, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Questions About Ayurveda or Levetiracetam
These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Ayurveda or Levetiracetam, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Levetiracetam
This page covers Ayurveda only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Levetiracetam page lists 105 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: 1,4-butanediol (major), Activated Charcoal (major), Beer (major), Gamma-hydroxybutyrate (ghb) (major) and Kava (major).
By severity: 7 major · 82 moderate · 16 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Levetiracetam page
“I would read this page carefully rather than casually. Levetiracetam (Keppra, Spritam) controls seizures, and both hazards on this list run through that fact.”

Where Ayurveda and Levetiracetam Sit Against Everything Else
Out of every supplement and medication people look up on HelloPharmacist, here is where these two land this week — and which way each has been moving.
#1,366 of 1,452 supplements looked up here in the last 7 days
#318 of 2,830 medications looked up here in the last 7 days
Position among everything looked up on this site, not a measure of how commonly either one is used or how important it is. A supplement can climb this list because of a news story. It counts every request to the page, automated ones included, and nothing here identifies anyone.
Where does our data come from?
- Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions. Ayurveda is not yet covered by that licensed database, so its write-up cites publicly available medical sources directly (see the references below).
- Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Ayurveda reference on this page ↓
- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 27, 2026. The Ayurveda and Levetiracetam records this page draws on were last updated June 22, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Ayurveda
What is Ayurveda?
- General wellness and prevention
- Digestive complaints
- Stress and sleep
- Joint and muscle discomfort
- Skin conditions
- Chronic conditions like arthritis or diabetes
Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest whole-body healing systems, originating in India, that uses herbs, diet, lifestyle, and body therapies to support health. Some individual Ayurvedic herbs have promising research, but the system as a whole is not well proven by modern science, and certain Ayurvedic products have been found to contain heavy metals like lead, mercury, and arsenic. Always buy from trusted sources and talk to your pharmacist or doctor before starting.
Not applicable (Ayurveda is a traditional medicine system, not a single plant) · Herbal powders, tablets, capsules, teas, oils, and combination formulas; also diet, massage, and lifestyle practices
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Ayurveda is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Ayurveda record says about it on its own.
Ayurveda: dosing
There is no single standardized dose for Ayurveda, because it covers many different herbs, formulas, and practices. Doses vary widely between products and between practitioners. If you choose to use an Ayurvedic product, follow the directions on the label and do not exceed the recommended amount.

About Levetiracetam
What Is Levetiracetam Used For?
Brand names: Keppra, Elepsia XR, Spritam
Levetiracetam treats partial-onset seizures (seizures that start in one area of the brain). Many products also add it to other medicines for myoclonic seizures in juvenile myoclonic epilepsy and for primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures in idiopathic generalized epilepsy.
Approved ages and uses differ by product. Extended-release products (Keppra XR, Elepsia XR, Levetiracetam ER) are only for partial-onset seizures in ages 12 and older. The injection is used when swallowing medicine by mouth is temporarily not possible.

Levetiracetam Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Levetiracetam as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Ayurveda — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
