Here's the thing with Durvalumab (Imfinzi): it's actually a type of immunotherapy that works by revving up your immune system to attack cancer cells, not by calming it down. So it's a bit unusual when we group it with traditional immunosuppressants. Blue-green algae, like spirulina, may also nudge the immune system to be more active.

The worry on file is theoretical and comes only from lab and animal studies, so we don't have solid human evidence here. Still, with cancer immunotherapy, an extra immune push could in theory add to immune-related side effects (things like fatigue, rash, diarrhea, or inflammation in organs). I'd skip this supplement during treatment unless your oncology team okays it. Please check with your oncologist or pharmacist before adding it.

About Durvalumab Injection

What Is Durvalumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Imfinzi

Imfinzi is used to treat a wide range of cancers in adults. For lung cancer, it is approved for resectable non-small cell lung cancer (given before and after surgery), unresectable Stage III non-small cell lung cancer (after chemoradiation), metastatic non-small cell lung cancer, limited-stage small cell lung cancer (after chemoradiation), and extensive-stage small cell lung cancer.

Beyond lung cancer, Imfinzi is also approved for locally advanced or metastatic biliary tract cancer (cancers of the bile ducts and gallbladder), unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer), mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer, BCG-naive high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer, muscle-invasive bladder cancer, and resectable gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma (stomach cancer at the junction with the esophagus). Most of these uses involve Imfinzi given alongside other chemotherapy drugs.
