Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Durvalumab
Durvalumab falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Andrographis interacts with.
Laboratory research suggests that andrographolide has immunostimulant activity.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing with Imfinzi (durvalumab): it's a cancer immunotherapy that works by taking the brakes off your immune system so it can attack tumor cells. Andrographis is thought, mostly from lab and animal work, to stir up immune activity too. On paper, mixing the two could either pile onto your immune response or pull it in an unexpected direction, and that's not something we can predict cleanly for a drug this powerful.
I want to be honest about the evidence here: this is theoretical, based on test-tube and animal data, not on real patients taking durvalumab. Still, with cancer treatment I'd rather you not gamble. Please run any andrographis product by your oncology team before starting it. Don't change your Imfinzi on your own.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Durvalumab page
“Nearly everything on this page interacts with durvalumab (Imfinzi) for the same underlying reason, immune stimulation. Durvalumab is a cancer immunotherapy, and because the treatment works through the immune system itself, supplements that push immune activity in their own direction (echinacea, ashwagandha, astragalus, and dozens of si…”

About Andrographis
What is Andrographis?
- Common cold and flu symptoms
- Upper respiratory infections
- Sore throat
- Fever
- Immune support
- Digestive complaints
Andrographis is a bitter Asian herb traditionally used for colds, flu, and infections, and some studies suggest it may ease cold symptoms and shorten how long they last. The evidence is limited and the quality of studies varies, so it should not replace standard care. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it during pregnancy.
