Theoretically, andrographis extract might increase the maximum concentration and time to peak concentration of celecoxib. The clinical significance of these changes is unclear.
Animal research suggests that andrographis extract taken orally increases the maximum concentration and time to peak concentration of celecoxib but does not appear to impact the area under the curve.

Here's the gist if you take andrographis alongside celecoxib (Celebrex). Animal studies hint that this herb may push celecoxib's peak blood level a bit higher and make it take a little longer to peak. The total amount of drug your body sees over the day looked about the same, though. Celecoxib is an active drug (not a prodrug), so a higher peak could, in theory, mean slightly more of its usual effects, things like stomach upset, fluid retention, or higher blood pressure.

That said, this is theoretical and based only on lab and animal data, so the real-world impact for people is unclear and likely minor. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but it's worth a quick word with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you have stomach or heart concerns.

What Is Celecoxib Used For?

Brand names: Celebrex, Elyxyb

Celecoxib capsules and the generic oral suspension treat the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis (AS), and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) in children 2 years and older. Celecoxib capsules also treat acute pain and primary dysmenorrhea (painful periods) in adults.

ELYXYB (celecoxib oral liquid) is specifically approved for the acute treatment of migraine with or without aura in adults — but it is not used to prevent migraines. VYSCOXA (celecoxib oral suspension) is not indicated for acute pain or primary dysmenorrhea.
