ETORICOXIB (Arcoxia)

Theoretically, andrographis might decrease the absorption of etoricoxib, although the clinical significance is unclear.
Animal research shows that andrographis extract, or the constituent andrographolide, taken orally with etoricoxib decreases the bioavailability of etoricoxib. However, this reduced bioavailability is not correlated with a reduction in the anti-inflammatory effects of etoricoxib in arthritic mice models. The clinical significance of this interaction is unclear.

Here's the gist for folks taking etoricoxib (Arcoxia), the prescription anti-inflammatory used for arthritis and pain. The concern with andrographis is that it might lower how much etoricoxib your body actually absorbs. In plain terms, less of the drug could make it into your bloodstream, which in theory could mean a bit less pain and inflammation relief.

Now, the good news: this is based only on animal and lab studies, not human trials. And interestingly, even when absorption dropped in those animal studies, the anti-inflammatory benefit didn't actually fall off. So this is a theoretical, minor concern, not something I'd lose sleep over. Still, if you plan to use both, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on whether your symptom control stays steady.
