Here's the gist: enalapril already lowers your blood pressure, and andrographis may have a mild blood-pressure-lowering effect of its own. Put the two together and there's a chance your pressure could drop a little more than expected. That might leave you feeling dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or unsteady when you stand up quickly.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. The concern comes only from animal and lab research, so it's largely theoretical and hasn't been clearly shown in people. For most folks it's not a dramatic risk, but if you do decide to try andrographis, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on how you feel. Never adjust your enalapril on your own.

About Enalapril

What Is Enalapril Used For?

Brand names: Vasotec, Epaned

Enalapril is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children older than one month, and to treat symptomatic heart failure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack.

It is also used for asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction — when the heart's pumping ability is reduced but the person doesn't yet have obvious heart failure symptoms — to slow the progression to overt heart failure and reduce hospitalizations. Enalapril maleate oral solution (including Epaned) and enalapril maleate tablets (including Vasotec) share these three approved uses.
