Blueberry + Linagliptin
Linagliptin brand name: Tradjenta.
Blueberry has a minor interaction with Linagliptin. Theoretically, blueberries or blueberry leaf extracts might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Linagliptin
Linagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Blueberry interacts with.
Animal and in vitro research suggests that blueberry and/or blueberry leaf extracts can lower blood glucose levels.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the gist with Tradjenta (linagliptin) and blueberries. Linagliptin already works to bring high blood sugar down. The thought here is that concentrated blueberry or blueberry leaf extracts might also nudge blood sugar a little lower, so stacking them could, in theory, push your numbers down a bit more than expected.
I want to be honest about how soft this is. It's rated minor and unlikely, and it comes only from lab and animal studies, not people. Eating blueberries as a normal food is not a concern. With linagliptin on its own, true low blood sugar is uncommon, so the bigger thing to watch for is if you also take insulin or a sulfonylurea. If you're thinking about a high-dose extract, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Linagliptin page
“Linagliptin (Tradjenta) helps people with type 2 diabetes bring blood sugar down, so most of the 284 supplements and herbs on this page interact for one basic reason: they lower glucose too, and stacking them can drop you into hypoglycemia. I'd read this list with genuine care rather than a shrug.”

About Blueberry
What is Blueberry?
- Antioxidant support
- Heart health
- Brain and memory health
- Blood sugar support
- Eye health
- Urinary health
Blueberries are a nutritious fruit rich in antioxidants called anthocyanins, and eating them as part of a balanced diet is healthy and safe for most people. Concentrated supplements are marketed for heart, brain, and blood sugar health, but the evidence is mostly early and not strong enough to promise specific benefits. Enjoy blueberries as food, and talk to your pharmacist before using high-dose extracts.
