Acetohexamide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Branched-chain Amino Acids (bcaa) interacts with.

Theoretically, BCAAs might alter the effects of antidiabetes medications.
Some evidence suggests that BCAAs might stimulate insulin release. However, a small clinical study in adults with liver cirrhosis and high nocturnal levels of blood glucose suggests that BCAAs might increase blood glucose levels.

Acetohexamide (Dymelor) is an older sulfonylurea that lowers blood sugar by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin. Branched-chain amino acids can tug your blood sugar in two directions, so the picture isn't clean. Some research hints BCAAs may bump up insulin release, which could add to acetohexamide's effect and push you toward low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion, hunger). Yet a small study in people with liver cirrhosis found BCAAs actually raised blood sugar, which could work against your medication.

Because this evidence is limited and a little contradictory, I wouldn't panic. Just monitor your numbers more closely if you start a BCAA supplement, and check in with your pharmacist or doctor before making any changes.
