Why this applies to Insulin Lispro
Insulin Lispro falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Branched-chain Amino Acids (bcaa) interacts with.
Some evidence suggests that BCAAs might stimulate insulin release. However, a small clinical study in adults with liver cirrhosis and high nocturnal levels of blood glucose suggests that BCAAs might increase blood glucose levels.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
If you use Insulin Lispro (Admelog) to manage your diabetes, here's the bottom line on adding BCAAs. These amino acids could nudge your blood sugar in either direction. Some research hints they may trigger your body to release a bit more insulin (which could push sugar lower), while one small study in people with liver cirrhosis suggested BCAAs raised overnight blood sugar instead. So the effect isn't fully predictable.
Because lispro is a fast-acting insulin, the main thing to watch for is low blood sugar, shakiness, sweating, confusion, or feeling lightheaded if your sugar drops too far. This interaction is rated moderate and rests on fairly limited evidence, so don't panic. Just check your readings a little more closely when starting BCAAs, and chat with your pharmacist or doctor before making any changes.

What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?
Brand names: Admelog, Admelog Solostar
Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
