ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin Lispro
Insulin Lispro falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Agmatine interacts with.
Animal and in vitro research suggest that agmatine has mild hypoglycemic effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: insulin lispro is a fast-acting mealtime insulin that lowers your blood sugar directly. Agmatine, in some lab and animal studies, appears to have its own mild blood-sugar-lowering action. Stack the two together and the worry is that your sugar could dip too low, which is called hypoglycemia.
I want to be honest about how shaky this evidence is. It's theoretical, drawn mostly from animal and test-tube work, not real-world human studies, so the actual risk in people is uncertain. Still, with insulin you already have to respect low-sugar symptoms like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, confusion, or a racing heart. If you decide to try agmatine, check your glucose a little more closely at first and loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Insulin Lispro page
“Blood sugar is the entire subject of this list. Insulin lispro (Admelog) is a rapid mealtime insulin dosed to bring glucose down after eating, and the supplements below can shove that same number around, most of them downward, which risks a genuine low.”
