Agmatine + Semaglutide
Semaglutide brand names: Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy.
Agmatine has a moderate interaction with Semaglutide. Theoretically, agmatine might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Semaglutide
Semaglutide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Agmatine interacts with.
Animal and in vitro research suggest that agmatine has mild hypoglycemic effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy, Rybelsus) and agmatine. Semaglutide already nudges your body to release insulin when blood sugar is high, which lowers your glucose. Agmatine has shown its own mild blood-sugar-lowering effects, but only in lab dishes and animal studies, not solid human trials. So this is a theoretical concern, not something we've seen clearly play out in people.
The idea is that stacking the two could push your sugar a little lower than expected, raising the chance of a hypoglycemia dip: shakiness, sweating, dizziness, headache, or feeling foggy. If you take semaglutide alongside insulin or a sulfonylurea, that risk matters more. I wouldn't panic, but please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding agmatine, and keep an eye on your readings.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Semaglutide page
“Semaglutide (Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy) lowers blood sugar, and so do most of the 256 supplements on this page, which is why I read this list with real vigilance rather than a shrug. Nearly all of the entries either add to its glucose-lowering effect and raise the risk of hypoglycemia, or push sugar the other way and blunt it, as niaci…”

About Agmatine
What is Agmatine?
- Pre- and post-workout support
- Muscle pumps and exercise performance
- Cognitive support and mood
- Nerve pain
- General well-being
Agmatine is a compound your body makes from the amino acid arginine, and it is sold mainly as a workout and 'pump' supplement. Human evidence for most of its claimed benefits is limited and preliminary, so its true effects are uncertain. If you want to try it, talk with your pharmacist or doctor first, especially if you have health conditions or take other medicines.
About Semaglutide
What Is Semaglutide Used For?
Brand names: Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy
Semaglutide is available as Wegovy (injection and tablet) and Ozempic (injection), and each product has its own approved uses. Wegovy injection is approved — alongside diet and exercise — to reduce excess body weight in adults and in children aged 12 and older with obesity, to lower the risk of serious heart events (heart attack, stroke, or cardiovascular death) in adults with obesity or overweight who also have established heart disease, and for treatment of a liver condition called MASH (metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, formerly called NASH) with moderate-to-advanced scarring in adults. Wegovy tablets share the cardiovascular risk reduction and weight management uses in adults, but are not approved for MASH or for use in children. Ozempic injection is approved to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes (alongside diet and exercise) and to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events in adults with type 2 diabetes who also have established heart disease.
All forms are used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Ozempic is not approved for type 1 diabetes. The MASH approval for Wegovy injection is an accelerated approval, meaning continued approval may depend on results from a confirmatory study.

Semaglutide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Semaglutide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Agmatine — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
