Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Semaglutide
Semaglutide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Agaricus Mushroom interacts with.
In one clinical study in patients with type 2 diabetes who are stabilized on conventional oral hypoglycemic agents, 3 of 29 patients taking an agaricus mushroom extract 500 mg three times daily for 12 weeks reported hypoglycemia, compared to one of 29 patients in the placebo group.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the practical takeaway: semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy, Rybelsus) already works to lower your blood sugar by helping your pancreas release insulin at the right time. Agaricus mushroom may have a mild blood sugar lowering effect of its own, so taking the two together could nudge your sugar a bit lower than expected. In one small study, a few people on diabetes medicine plus an agaricus extract reported low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This concern is mostly theoretical and based on how the mushroom behaves, not strong proof. If you do try it, watch for signs of low sugar like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or confusion, and loop in your pharmacist or doctor before starting so they can keep an eye on your numbers.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Semaglutide page
“Semaglutide (Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy) lowers blood sugar, and so do most of the 256 supplements on this page, which is why I read this list with real vigilance rather than a shrug. Nearly all of the entries either add to its glucose-lowering effect and raise the risk of hypoglycemia, or push sugar the other way and blunt it, as niaci…”

About Agaricus Mushroom
What is Agaricus Mushroom?

- Adjunct interest during cancer care
- Blood sugar support
- Cholesterol and heart health
Agaricus mushroom (often Agaricus blazei/subrufescens) is a culinary and medicinal mushroom studied mostly for possible immune and antioxidant effects. About Semaglutide
What Is Semaglutide Used For?
Brand names: Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy
Semaglutide is available as Wegovy (injection and tablet) and Ozempic (injection), and each product has its own approved uses. Wegovy injection is approved — alongside diet and exercise — to reduce excess body weight in adults and in children aged 12 and older with obesity, to lower the risk of serious heart events (heart attack, stroke, or cardiovascular death) in adults with obesity or overweight who also have established heart disease, and for treatment of a liver condition called MASH (metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, formerly called NASH) with moderate-to-advanced scarring in adults. Wegovy tablets share the cardiovascular risk reduction and weight management uses in adults, but are not approved for MASH or for use in children. Ozempic injection is approved to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes (alongside diet and exercise) and to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events in adults with type 2 diabetes who also have established heart disease.
All forms are used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Ozempic is not approved for type 1 diabetes. The MASH approval for Wegovy injection is an accelerated approval, meaning continued approval may depend on results from a confirmatory study.

Semaglutide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Semaglutide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Agaricus Mushroom — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
