Insulin Degludec falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Agaricus Mushroom interacts with.

Theoretically, taking agaricus mushroom with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
In one clinical study in patients with type 2 diabetes who are stabilized on conventional oral hypoglycemic agents, 3 of 29 patients taking an agaricus mushroom extract 500 mg three times daily for 12 weeks reported hypoglycemia, compared to one of 29 patients in the placebo group.

Here's the gist: Tresiba (insulin degludec) is your long-acting insulin, and its whole job is to lower blood sugar over the day. Some early research suggests Agaricus mushroom may nudge blood sugar down a little on its own. Put the two together and there's a theoretical chance your sugar could drop lower than expected, meaning more risk of a low (hypoglycemia).

If that happens, you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, irritable, or suddenly very hungry. I want to be honest, though: this is based mostly on pharmacology and one small study, so it's a possibility, not a sure thing. Food amounts of the mushroom are unlikely to matter much, but concentrated supplement doses could. Don't change your insulin on your own. Just loop in your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep checking your sugars.

What Is Insulin Degludec (rDNA Origin) Injection Used For?

Brand name: Tresiba

Insulin degludec (brand name Tresiba) is used to improve blood sugar (glucose) control in adults and children 1 year of age and older who have diabetes mellitus — including both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

It is not recommended for treating diabetic ketoacidosis (a dangerous complication of diabetes that requires a different type of treatment). In people with type 1 diabetes, insulin degludec must always be used together with a short-acting insulin.
