Metformin, Sitagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Agaricus Mushroom interacts with.

Theoretically, taking agaricus mushroom with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
In one clinical study in patients with type 2 diabetes who are stabilized on conventional oral hypoglycemic agents, 3 of 29 patients taking an agaricus mushroom extract 500 mg three times daily for 12 weeks reported hypoglycemia, compared to one of 29 patients in the placebo group.

Janumet pairs two blood sugar lowering medicines, metformin and sitagliptin, in one pill. The thought here is that Agaricus mushroom may have its own mild blood sugar lowering effect. If you stack that on top of your Janumet, your sugar could theoretically drop a little lower than expected, which is what we call hypoglycemia.

I want to be honest about the evidence though, it's pretty thin. In one small study, just 3 of 29 people on the mushroom extract reported low sugar versus 1 on placebo, so this is more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Watch for shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy. If you'd like to try Agaricus, check with your pharmacist or doctor first so you can keep an eye on your readings.
