PHOSPHODIESTERASE-5 INHIBITORS
Why this applies to Vardenafil
Vardenafil falls under PHOSPHODIESTERASE-5 INHIBITORS — the group Butea Superba interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing about pairing Butea superba with vardenafil (Levitra or Staxyn). Vardenafil already works by relaxing blood vessels and boosting blood flow. Lab work suggests this Thai herb may act in a similar way, gently widening blood vessels too. Stack the two and you could, in theory, get a little too much of that effect, meaning your blood pressure could dip lower than expected.
If that happened, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, flushed, or get a headache, especially when standing up quickly. I'll be honest though: this concern is theoretical, based on how the herb behaves in the lab rather than real patient reports, and the herb itself hasn't been well studied for safety. I'd just run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
