Perampanel falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Cannabichromene (cbc) interacts with.

Using cannabichromene with drugs that have sedative properties may cause additive therapeutic and adverse effects.
Animal research shows that cannabichromene, given as a single dose intraperitoneally, increases the sedative response to the drugs hexobarbital, barbital, and zoxazolamine. However, this effect was not maintained when cannabichromene was given continuously. After receiving cannabichromene daily for 7 days, the sedative effect of these drugs was reduced when compared with a control group or a single dose of cannabichromene.

Here's the thing to know about pairing CBC with Perampanel (Fycompa): Perampanel already tends to make people drowsy, dizzy, or unsteady on their feet, and irritability or trouble concentrating can show up too. Since CBC may add to the sedating effects of medicines like this one, stacking the two together could leave you feeling more tired, foggy, or off balance than usual. This isn't about Perampanel being activated or broken down differently, it's simply two things that can calm the nervous system piling up.

I'll be honest, the evidence here is thin. It comes from animal studies, and interestingly the sedation effect actually faded with repeated dosing. So treat this as a be aware, not alarmed situation. Before combining them, please check with your pharmacist or doctor, especially since you don't want anything risking seizure control or making falls more likely.

What Is Perampanel Used For?

Brand name: Fycompa

Perampanel — available as Fycompa and in generic forms — is used to treat partial-onset seizures (seizures that start in one area of the brain) in patients with epilepsy aged 4 years and older. Both the tablet and oral suspension forms carry this indication.

Perampanel tablets and oral suspension are also approved as add-on (adjunctive) therapy for primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures (grand mal seizures involving the whole brain at once) in patients with epilepsy aged 12 years and older. Fycompa oral suspension and tablet share both indications.
